Ok, I'm looking through a copy of Super Street magazine (ricer oriented) and I
notice a huge variety of wheels in multiple adds. Many are very ricey, but many
also look pretty good IMO.
Seems like all of us Mustang purist's only have certain wheels that are acceptable
with out being ricey.
They would be.................
1. stock wheels
2.some type of cobra r's, y2k,etc.
3.Saleen
4.bullitt
5.fr500
6.SVT

I would not be offended by seeing something a bit different.
Any one got pic'c of some unique wheels on a Mustang?

honestly most other wheels dont seem to look right on the 99-04 body... the S197 platform seems to take other wheels just fine. like i just saw a 06 GT with a a set of 18" Volk GT-C's and they look great.... now put those same wheels on a 99-04 and youll have ricefest o6/o7

Besides the wheels you listed, the high dollar wheels are also VERY nice, such as: CCW, I-Forged, HRE, etc...

CCW:

i agree with the statement.
I'm getting sick of thread that goes like
"I'm getting new wheels. Should I go with Saleen or DD Bullitt"..

its unfortunately true that most rim don't look right on our car. But some do look nice - like said above, those mega dollar rims like BBK, HRE, SSR, but some less costly ones aren't bad, like ADR M-Sport
I myself have been thinking about M-Sport for some time. Just can't find chrome one cheap enough

That's because a lot of the aftermarket wheels out there don't look good at all on a Mustang. Some are just way too heavy on the chrome and too big and heavy.

95% of the aftermarket wheels I see on cars don't look good at all on the car....and the aftermarket wheels that DO look good are EXPENSIVE!!!!

I think that's why a lot of Mustang guys go with Mustang wheels. $150 for an 18" wheel is a hell of a lot better than spending $500+/wheel for some of the half-decent looking aftermarket wheels

Wheels gotta match the car. If they don't look good on the car, there's no point.

I battled with this for a long time as well. I was tired of buying a nice Ford wheel, only to see a month later, everybody else have the same wheel. I finally found a wheel that noone else was going to have because they dont make it anymore. The AR Longboard, (pictured on my coupe below) is still one of my favorites. They looked REALLY good on my 99, but they looked like they were made for my coupe.

So, I was once again needing to find a good looking aftermarket wheel for the 99. I wanted a 20'' wheel in the rear, and these are what I ended up with.... There are plenty of good looking aftermarket wheels available, but most poeple dont want to think outside of the box when looking. So, they end up buying bullit wheels, or fr500s.

Maybe its just like bodykit, somes like them somes doesnt.... IMO I prefer 18" DD Blak Bullit (can't beat them on a black stang...) since its a nice set of rims but they doesn't "shine" more then the car itself. I prefer a f***ing good looking car with nice rims then a f***ing good looking set of rims with a nice car on top.... BTW 99BRINGIT your cars look awesome!

SSR GT3

Five spoke has always been the only wheel for a Mustang. Not six and not ten. Five in one configuration or another....

Thats the money right there on our cars for true aftermarket wheels. They look sick...

I saw something like them on a DSG Mach 1 and about crapped myself.
