Whats your opinion on this exhaust setup?

BBK Long tube headers
Bassani X Pipe w/o cats (Want it to be louder)
Flowmaster 2 chamber

What do you guys think? I'd like to go with the BBK offroad X Pipe but my buddy has a Bassani X Pipe sitting in his garage and he said he cant fabricate it and make it fit the BBK LT's. Thanks! :SNSign:

I'm not a huge fan of flows with an X. But if you like raspy, go for it!

Buddy of mine has an X with LT's and 2 chamber flows. I think it sounds mean! Very aggressive and loud as a mother. Its the classic Flowmaster sound. But it can be quite loud in the inside as well, riding in his backseat that was all I heard. But as long as you dont mind that, you should love it!

one of the best vids ive ever heard was a VRS o/r X w/ Mac 3" Flowpath (chambered) cat-back. of course it was on a blown cobra, but nonetheless it sounded great.

generally most people get an o/r H (or Prochamber) with chambered muffs, but that doesnt mean you have to.

even the mac's on my cobra (stock h-pipe) sound very aggressive

If you want a chambered muffler i wouldn't go with the x-pipe. I also wouldn't get flows.

is that the Black terminater that burenes tire and takes off away from camera on street? ya that was nasty sounding..

I'm with most people. I don't like X with Flows. Infat, I'm just not a fan of X pipe. I would go with Prochamber or H pipe. O/R H and L/T and 2 chamber would be plenty loud enough I would think...

that would be the one. MPH built, and the vids over on their site. unfortunately, i heard the guy sold it to pursue another project and the guy who bought it totaled it two weeks later, or something to that extent.

I like the H pipe with Flows. Its what I run. the x pipe can make it more raspy while the H keeps the deep rumble. Reminds me more of when I had a 69 Malibu and 72 Nova. O/R H with Super 40 series Flows is the way to go for Deep tone. Ive done H pipes on 3 vehicles other than my Mustang, since I like the deep rumble.

H pipe for chambered and X pipe for straight through design mufflers. At least thats what the "Experts" say.

Yeah, it's gonna pretty much sound like @$$. It's going to be loud as hell I give you that, but it's going to be unbearably loud and not Mustang sounding, especially the O/R. The cats will quiet it down some. I think you should go with maybe the UPR O/R with a Mac Catback.

With a UPR O/R X with a Mac Catback, you get more power with the X over an H and the X will be louder. But the thing is, the MAC Catback quiets it down a bit and adds a rumble to. So you get a loud rumble with that combo instead of just being loud and raspy as you would get with an O/R X with Flows.

Besides the UPR goes for about $139 brand new. No sense in spending a lot of money on something that gets about the same power and sound of a Bassani. Besides, you'll probably get tired of that combo in about a year and will want something different sounding....Now go and wake the neighbors .

How is a Mustang with Flows and an O/R mid pipe not Mustang sounding?? I think flows sound great with an O/R H, sound good with an X as well. I had an O/R H with 2 chamber flows on my 96' GT and loved the sound. It was deep and mean, the way a Mustang should sound. It was also not unbearable. Depends on what you like, I like loud exhaust and it didnt bother me.

Yeah I like the H with Flows better than an X. But X still doesnt sound too bad, just my opinion from hearing my friends car. You still get that Flowmaster sound either way.

Yeah that's what I was saying. The X o/r with Flows sounds loud don't get me wrong, but it has a raspy Nascar like sound instead of the patented deep Mustang rumble that we all know. I'm not saying that all Xs sound bad with Flows because UPR and Dr.Gas sounds good with them, but I don't like the Bassani O/R X with Flows.
I have an UPR O/R X with 2 chamber Flows and it sounds deep when driving normal, but when I really get down on it, it starts to get loud. Don't get me wrong, I get a lot of compliments on it and long stares and thumbs up from little kids . But I think I may go with the Mac Catback to make it deeper.

And I'm not going to get into the highway cruising about 80mph. It doesn't bother me, but it gives my fiance a headache
