I have done some searching in the forums but I really haven't found what I am looking for. I am looking for some new wheels, but I don't want to spend several hundred dollars and have new wheels that have chipping paint or chrome. I want to know what are good brands to buy, i.e. Ford OEM, Saleen, Steeda, replicas, etc. and where are the best places to buy them and also where I shouldn't buy them. I don't mind spending money if it is good quality, but I hate spending one penny on crap.

Thanks for any help

Get the real deal dont buy replicas, I think they are what you are talking about, chipping and flakeing ect..... Quality wheels wont be cheep, but you get what you pay for and its worth it in the long run

The replicas can be good. Do some research to find out where they are cast. Some of the oveseas castings (especially China) do not have the quality control that even a wheel cast in Taiwan has. Better yet get one cast in the good 'ol USA. or

Hell, I got replica Saleens and the rim dented and cracked after ~1200 miles...I wouldn't mind forking out the $175 for a new rim but the fact that it shredded my $200 g-force KDW2 really pissed me off...

I got my bullitts from mustangtuning and 3 moths after I got them I started noticeing the chrome haveing a rippled look in small spots, a week or so later small chip spots falling off where the ripples where, keep in mind they are very small about half of a pencil eraser and there is only 2 or 3 on two of my deep dishes. But is still enough to make me say crapola amnit:

Does Mustangtuning not have a guarantee on their finish? Mine are OE wheels I believe and they guaranteed the chrome for something like a year, I believe?

I hope to god mine dont get any worse than they are now, I dont want to have to put the stock 16inc ponys back on there. This is why Im aginst any replica wheels, yea I know there is a few of you guys that have them and they look great. But there is also a few of us that do have them and they are crapola , I think its better to buy the orginals and roll with those. Im thinking about some TRUE Saleen 18's what do you guys think?

I had mine for 18 months before they were put on my car. I got the wheels the same time I got the car and I wanted to put wheels, hood, wing and cobra bumper on all at the same time, for a more dramatic change all at once.

God bless you if you have the $1400 for the rims alone. You could go through 2 full sets of replicas for that price.
