I'm looking into getting a new set of wheels for my 1973 Mach 1. I want Magnum 500's, I think they will look good with the yellow a black paint job I (eventually) want to put on it. What size should I go with?
The car is my primary driver, so I'll need to be driving it in rain and snow, but I also want to be able to race it. I'm not sure what the tallest wheel I can fit in the wheel wells is, or the widest (I don't want rubber sticking out of the wheel well).
Also, is there somewhere to order them from that is better than somewhere else?

The factory wheel in 73 was a truly excellent aluminum slot, but IIRC it was 14x6. The 71-73 Mustang looks amazing with 15x7 magnums.

I agree with Magnum 500s looking awesome on 71-73, or any other classic Mustang for that matter. Those slot wheels are cool. My friend has them on his 74 Maverick. I have not seen them in 15s, only 14s.

You can usually find good deals that might even have free shipping on Ebay from Mustangs Unlimited or other Mustang shops that have Ebay stores. I got mine Magnums from MU and they are made by Specialty Wheel. I think they are nice and well made.

If you want some good tires to go with it for good performance and all weather driving, consider some Yokohama YK520 tires. Thats what I put on my car recently. They are tons better than the BFG TAs I had before.

I like the Magnums. I know they aint Mach 1's but they are both 72's. The Green one has 14's and the blue one has 15's
