When changing the timing chain...What more to do???

Just getting ready to get some parts together to put a new timing chain and gear on my 95 GT, she has 151k miles on her and past due!

My main question is this...what else can be accomplished at the exact same time that would require very little if any little additional work?

Here is my list thus far:
1. Timing Chain/Gear
2. Water Pump
3. Underdrive Pulleys
4. New Serp belt

Your list looks pretty good. I'd add a front main oil seal if the gasket kit doesn't come with one, and a new balancer if the old one looks like it's seen better days. You're already in there, so I might recommend a cam, but then you're also yanking the intake, and that's a pain in the rear for not a lot of reward on a stock engine.

I'm gonna toss this one in tech. It's kinda bordering now, but would probably fall under a technical issue better. Higher post counts, FTW!

I think you have most everything covered. While you're in there check your tensioner and idler pullies. Just spin them around and put downward pressure on them while you're moving them around. If you feel any grinding or rough movement it would be a good idea to replace them.

Check out all your fluids while you're under there. If it's been a while since a coolant flush go ahead and flush the system out.

Check all your hoses and make sure they feel firm and not soft or mushy

Double check all your hose clamps as sometimes they can back off

Check your vac hose in the very back right by the RH side of the firewall. This hose goes to your CANP (canister purge) solenoid and is famous for rotting...replace if it looks like it needs it

Just do general maint. while in there
