Okay i have seen two autos on here that have 4.10s and as long as tehy are not regretting it then i will be going with 4.10s. Worst case scenario i have to spend another 500-600 to swap em out for 3.73s. I go on the highway maybe 5-6 times a month and even then its only like 30-45 minutes tops.
So thanks for the help. In deciding which size gear.
NOW WHAT BRAND DO YOU GUYS RECCOMEND?
I was planning on getting FRPP but wasn't sure if something better was around that was really worth getting instead of the FRPPs.
You wont regret it and like I said the only reason I pulled them out was because I was maxing them out at the track.
I would get FRPP gears.
What size tire were you running and what is your redline?
On the car that I am building now I am going to use a 4.56 gear with 28 inch tires and plan to turn it to around 7k. That will limit me to 128mph max.
I can see 115 with 4.10's putting you close to trouble if you had 26 inch tires and a rev limit of around 6k. You don't have much room there for sure.
On an NA car you would have to be really doing something pretty wild to have a problem with 4.10 gears at the track though. A lot of the NA guys I work with use 4.30 gears and love those at the track in cars running down into the very low 12's.
It's really hard to say what the perfect gear is because it depends a lot on what your car can do and how you drive it.
+1 for FRPP gears.

Was that through a manual or auto? I know the thread is about an auto, but just wondering on your car.
With a 4R70W having a 1:1 3rd gear, a 26 in tire with 4.10 gears should give you around 125 mph if I did my math right. If that was through a 4r and you were hitting that at the 1000 foot mark then you were really hauling the mail.
On most of the fast power adder cars we have worked with they are using closer to a 3.73 gear. Except for this one guy that has a Marauder running 10.9 @ 132.7mph. He is going with more gear to try and help correct a 60' issue until we can get the right converter in the car for him. Here is a thread about his car if you are interested.

The guy is indeed insane. LOL

Don't fear the gear......I ran 373's and now run 410's.......Now I wished I went with the 430's......in an auto car you will love the low end power and control of the launch.......get a decent stall with a DR and you will cut some serious 60 fts.....as far as highway.....with 410's I am right at 2950 at 70 MPH......
