WHERE CAN I TAKE WEIGHT OFF OF CAR

How long did it take to removed the A/C and can you weigh it by chance?

When I replaced my Flowmaster cat-back with the SLP system I was astonished at how much the Flow stuff weighs. Probably 3-4 times what the SLP weighs.

I removed power steering, a/c, all smog, front sway bar, no carpet/interior from front seats back, battery in trunk, no console, rear diff dogbone and replaced things with a fiberglass hood, weld draglites (what a difference from my ROH wheels), poly seats etc.

What I was wondering though is if I remove all the deadening material under the front carpet would I get a ton of engine/exhaust heat into the interior? This is a summer only car but I don't wanna cook while I'm driving it....:OT:

motor/trans, body panels, doors, glass etc.

We have an 86 that weighs 2480 with no one in it. Its been a 6.11 @ 112 on the motor and 5.60s @ 122 on 250 with a 393.

Specifically on that car that went into great detail looking for things. We ended up cutting the backs of the headlight "cups" and running plastic lights. You can cut alot out of those front "clips" and we took out 18lbs out of just the bumper with the lights and swiss cheesing items and using aluminum rivets and ditching some of the reinforcement.

Also some crazy details we went into were putting the timing cover on the end mill and milling the thermostat housing to remove the bypass and thread the intake manifold and using a hex insert to block it off at the intake.

We really went to extremes and did that without using fiberglass (except for the hood) and lexan. With both of those, you could get it down to 2400 even or so.

I took a bone stock 82GT with glass sunroof left in down to 2850lbs and added some things in the process basically still original at that weight. Official SCCA scales with full tank of gas and spare tire still in it. Easily could have removed another 150lbs. but the car was really well balanced the way it was.

Removed AC (kept working heater SM rules), removed CI headers and exhaust replaced with steel long headers and thrust mufflers with 3"side pipes, replaced front suspension with new steel A arms,adj top plates and 2" lower stronger springs, alum intake manifold, replaced both stabilizer bars with bigger hollow units, removed non-working radio (replaced with tiny one SM rules), replaced stock radiator with 3 row, relocated power steering unit to use serpentine belt w/manual billet tensioner, removed all pollution equipment, added frame rails and police seat support plates. Removed foglight assembly. Replaced missing front air dam with aftermarket. Used aftermarket 15x8 wheels and gummy race tires.

Maintained complete stock interior untouched. Never got around to moving battery to rear. Never took out rear seat or spare. No roll cage. 306ci with 750edebrock and economy 7.5" readend moved 13.7sec in 1/4 with a passenger on run with semi-gummy autocross tires and alignment Still had 3speed OD borgwarner tranny too with all those sucky gears. Also added steel 3pt strut tower brace in that weight.
