Where does the air blowing my feet come from?

When I open that little lever and I drive fast and my feet get a blast of Texas heat....

Where is it coming from? I haven't looked for an intake anywhere but I haven't stumbled across it either.

This just crossed my mind as I was reading the thread about the cowl repair.

so it comes from that vent area near where the wipers connect?

Seems like the physics wouldn't work since that is a horizontal surface and air traveling perpendicular to that inlet would create a vacuum in the opposite direction like blowing over the top of a straw draws liquid out the top.

At any rate it is working, I just expected an opening somewhere on the front of the car or something with a direct route to my feet.

actually, the air changing direction (up the windshield) creates a low pressure area. this is the theory behind cowl induction.

No, actually the base of the windshield is a neutral or higher-pressure area. THAT's the theory behind cowl indiction. Otherwise, why bother. If it was a low-pressure area, it would suck air out of the carb or interior vents.
