i am contemplating getting some coil overs, for the simple fact they ride better than other lowering springs, and hav full adjustability of ride height, with no chance in spring rate. i have heard conflicting stories of which C/C plates to use with coil overs, due to the increased load put on the strut tower, and my question to you guys what is ur opinion? i have never heard anything for sure on which ones work. if it helps i have the upr 3 bolt steel caster camber plates. :nice:

When you go with coil overs it puts the ENTIRE weight of the front suspension on your strut towers. So you really want the best CC plates you can get. Maximum Motorsports 4 bolts plates seem to be the best for that the extra bolt helps to distribute the weight over the strut towers. They would be your best bet.

If you get the steeda plates you MUST get the 4 bolt ones as the 3 bolt aluminum ones are way to weak if you do your coilovers, remember the entire weight of the car will rest on the camber plates basically
so the aluminum ones are are worse than stock then?

not worse, anything is better if you just have lowering springs, but for coilovers, if you use the stock ones that means that the entire weight of the car will be supported by the rubber bushing, what you want is a spherical because it has no give ,you could use a 3 bolt plate with a spherical bushing but it's still weak because the actual top plate is not very thick aluminum, the steeda 4 bolt plate uses i think thicker aluminum on the top plate but if you are doing coilovers dont cut corners...get the mm 4 bolt's as they are BILLET STEEL, trust me better safe than sorry, there are some people that run three bolt plates as whell as aluminum plates with coilovers but with four bolt's you have nothing to worry about!

This is what MMR had to say about their kit when I asked them if C/C plates were a must. It's posted over on the corral HERE..

Installing CC plates does not change where the load is distributed, the shock towers still take the load with a coil over system on a Mustang. Our kit works great with the stock CC plates but for optimum performance they are recommended.
