my car has been down for over a year because i'm replacing the tranny...again! (5th) anyways i go to start and find out the starter wire ground out to the frame and the positive battery cable melted. i've replaced it but now the car is dead, no power to anything. i have replaced the starer selonoid, still nothing. i can get the starter to turn over if i jump the selonoid though. i think maybe it's a fuseable link, is there one in particular? i looked in my haynes service manual but you have to have superman eye sight to make heads or tailes of anything there :( HELP...PB

if you jump your solonoid, and the car cranks, it basically tells you that the solonoid is bad, so if you replaced it already...your new one is bad...unless you didn't put all of those little wires back on there. Did you put the little wires back on the side of the solonoid w/ the + battery cable? The Ignition wire is the little press on connector that goes on the "screw" at the top of the starter solonoid/relay.
