Hi,

I'm getting a 2005 GT convertible. I want to put either the Saleen or Cervini complete body kit with exhaust on it. And some other modifications.

I have a few questions and I really appreciate any help.

What perfomance modifications would you recommend for a max of $3,000?

What HP increases can I expect to get for that?

I'd rather get an automatic GT, but I can drive a manual.
Pros/cons?

How has the reliability been so far on the new GT?

Any recommendations for mustang modifyers within
a 100 miles of chicago would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.:SNSign:

CAI/tuner combo can run you about $600-$700 depending on brand choice. Mufflers and/or mid pipes can run about another $400-$700 depending on brand choice. Headers can run about $400-$1000+ depending on brand choice. Gears and install can run you in the neighborhood of $500. Underdrive pullies run about $250. I believe FRPP Charge Motion plates run around $100. Those things will give your stallion quite a nice performance increase in your $3000 budget.

Everything Kool mentions can be done in your own garage minus gears. Half the fun of owning the car is doing the mods, I wouldn't be too timid of anything on that list except the gear install as you'll need some knowledge and tools that are not common. However, you can rent them.

Thanks for help

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. Personally I cannot even change spark plugs in a car:shrug:

Anyone have experience with a good mustang shop around Chicago?
Thanks. Gavin.:SNSign:

Forget about the other cheap bolt on stuff - There is an EBAY store that will sell you a Powerdyne Supercharger - if you call him he will ship it complete for $3K. Est: 399 HP - Wish I would have done this first before buying all the "other" stuff.

I wouldn't go with any FI system that does not have some kind of heat exchanger on it the intake side before it enters the motor.

That is if you plan on having the car for more than a year. ;)
