I have the LMI and i want to have the resonators cut out and replaced with mufflers. LMI is extremely loud to me with the bassani catted x that i have. What are your suggestions for good quality mufflers not ofer $150 for the pair that can be welded on?

I want the sound to be about 50% less than what it is now.

as do the SLP Powerflo's but both are a little over $150

Magnaflow and Bassani sell universal mufflers as well but under $150? not sure

+1 for the powerflows , the slp LMII's are pretty sweet as well. Either one is a winner in my book.

PowerFlos and the LMIIs would be the easiest. LMIIs are quiter than the I's and the PowerFlos are the quietiest of the 3.
The IIs are quiter than the I's but not by much. They have more of a tone to them and do sound much, much better. If you wanted quiter though, I would go with the PowerFlos.

Thanks for the advice guys, I have the old type SLP catback, so the LMI would have to be cut out, i do not see clamps on them. For those that have heard both the LMI and Powerflo, if the LMI sound is at 10 at WOT, what would you say the PowerFlo's are from 1-10? I want something about at least half the sound. The LMI are too loud for my taste and my neigbors and job. lol

Thanks

I had all 3. Here is what IMO would be the sound

LMI - 10
LMIIs - 8
PowerFlos - 5-6

PowerFlo's sound awesome. They have a real nice tone to them and are not too quiet but not too loud.

Yeah, the old cat backs have the mufflers welded on. , new ones have clamps which make it much easier. You should be happy with the PowerFlos though.

Thanks for the tip warrior, i think the bassani mufflers are even more expensive than the powerflo's, i dont want to spend too much money on mufflers since they dont really give much power gains. thanks again for the tip. I got the Powerflows for $209 shipped.

Do you also have x pipe with cats? Are the powerflo's deeper in tone than the LM?

Thanks, they are the same price as the powerflo, i have ordered those already, will update on sound once they are installed. Any idea on how much it usually costs to weld on a pair of mufflers? How long is the labor?
