so after spending my weekend hookin up my new gauges and shift light...I find that I'm only gettin a max of 6psi of boost...not happy bout it....but atleast it explains why I only put down 330 to the wheels last dyno.

so i'm thinkin a MPH 4" boost pipe might be needed in order to get the boost somewhere near 8 lbs....the only other option would be to swap the pulley right?...which would you guys recommend...or both...and why? I know I'd have to take the blower off to swap pulleys...which of course would be a minor PITA

Anybody got opinions on why my blower is puttin out only 6psi of boost

Hmm, not sure. But the boost pipe would bring it to 8PSI.

Clean your air filter
make sure all hose clamps are nice and tight.

It is possbale that the S/C is defective....but that seems to be a very remote possability.

I don't think you should need that to get to 8psi. I though the stock kit was suposed to be 8psi but i could be wrong.

i would verify the obvious intake track, guage connections, pulley size. also call MPH as they install tons of them so they may have some better troubleshooting tips. they would also be able to tell you point blank if the boost pipe was really needed.

Make sure the BOV from the kit is installed in the right direction as well. I had a faulty one that was sent with the kit. Tim sent me a knew one and all was well.

Your car does have a full exhaust, so that may be where some of it is going. Opening things up on the exhaust end often will reduce manifold pressure on the intake side. Then again, you do have things opened up on the intake side as well, which should ballance things out a little. My guess is that your engine is making better use of the additional volume of air and it's no longer stacking up within the system. It doesn't seem to be hurting your power a whole lot though. 330rwhp at only 6psi is still better than average, for any supercharged 2V. I'd consider a pulley swap next if I were you. See what Tim's got to say. If you didn't mention all of the previous mods before buying the charger, or have since added a few after the kit, your A/F ratio may be all out of whack and a new tune might be in order?

Originally when I told Tim about the dyno #'s...he suspected I might be low on boost...he never gave me a cause though....I will probably give them a call tomorrow to talk to them...he said he'd had some experiences w/ full exhaust cars making less boost...but my air/fuel was dead on...so I'm not sure what I should do next to get more boost in

Time for a pulley swap by the sounds of it.

Pulley swap should be your next upgrade.
