What do you mean how does a power pipe add 1-2lbs???? Do you know what a powerpipe is? Most powerpipe manufactures say they add 1-2lbs. Look it up or ask about it.
I put on a power pipe and went from 8-10lbs of boost, I don't know how more clear I can be.

Okay I'll show you the math so if he see's 5lbs, (that would be 5+(1 or2)= 6-7lbs.

That's not what a powerpipe does...many actually question the powerpipe and its effectiveness...where did you get yours? AFM motor sport of morpheus? other? What a powerpipe essentially does it create turbulent air which autiomizes with the fuel better...The only way to get more PSI out of the blower is switch a pulley or change the propeller to make it spin at higher RPM's...manufacturers claim a lot of BS stuff...

Okay can someone chime in and tell this guy that a power pipe will put you up some boost....It won't spin the blower faster or anything like you keep refering to with the pulleys but your boost guage will read more boost.

How can the boost gage read more? Do you mean your getting up to boost sooner? Full boost is achieved at higher RPM's...so if you're getting up to boost sooner it doesn't mean you gaind psi...look at where you're at...at full boost...those are the only two ways you can raise psi...other than than the power-pipe just creats more turbulent air...

No it acctually ups your boost....At 6000 RPM I went from 8-10lbs oh and from 114.7mph to 119.5mph
Have you ever used one....cause it's pretty obviouse you haven't

I would prefer the SC trim on your engine because it will swallow a lot of air, and the CFM difference between it and the Novi 1000 is worth chasing down some parts IMO. A more efficient blower will also mean cooler discharge temps, which will be critical...I feel your 10:1 compression could be a headache to tune with any serious amount of boost as it is.

Power pipes add boost across the entire RPM range...
The stock blower inlets are very restrictive and narrow. This results in the blower being able to suck enough to create vacuum in the inlet pipe (have heard of some guys reading 4-5 inches-Hg of vacuum in their inlet pipes). When you upgrade to a larger filter and pipe, you increase the cross sectional area and hence the mass of air the blower has to draw from, and a larger filter will also decrease the pressure required to draw in air across it's surface. I would expect a gain of at least 2-3 psi on an average centrifugal blower going from OEM inlets to a 4" power pipe/filter combo. It has nothing to do with how soon the boost comes on or at what RPM. Airflow will be increased across the entire RPM band. Also, turbulence has no impact at this point since the whirling impeller blade pretty much decides how turbulent the air comes out on the discharge side...

sinner is right it does create more boost 1-3 lbs to be more exact. Alot of people have reported takeing there vortech sc-trim up to 10+lbs with a powerpipe and new crank pulley. Just bought a vortech sc-trim charger my self and a powerpipe is deff in the near future. Plus what grounds do you have to argue with sinner after all he DOES!! have a charger with a powerpipe so who would know better than him? what does he gain from lieing? shure not to hell 1-3lbs of boost.

sinner, its called removing restriction and preventing expansion. These power pipes do increase boost levels believe it or not.
