while VC's are off what maintainance?

while I have the valve covers off, what can I do to make sure everything is good in there? get a wrench on everything and make sure that it is torqued to proper specifications? make sure there is no excessive wear on any parts? what should i do?

also what is that vaccuum tube that connect on the underside of the upper intake manifold, the bottom back corner of the upper intake manifold, and to the very back of the lower intake manifold. It has a valve on the end that gos to the lower intake manifold and it had a little bit of oil in the hose. What is this?

Should the inside of my upper and lower intake manifold be nasty, burnt and black?

The hose with the valve thing is the PCV and PCV valve if not changed they can get grungy. The other hose's are IIRC the fuel canister EVAP, one that goes to the vac. tree on the drivers side, and ??? not sure off the top of my head.

really with the covers off just check to make sure no springs are broke, not pushrods are bent, and nothing is just hanging out not attachd to something.

On the lower intake were the PCV goes there is also a metal mesh screen down in the hole if your carefull you can pull it out and clean it out with some brake cleaner/parts cleaner as it helps keep oil out of the system.

It is not uncommon for a stock motor to have nasty runners on the intake. Now if oil is running out of those runners you might have a problem.

Yes that is what it is. It connects to the sensor near the AC receiver dryer. That lil' joker keeps giving me the 565 code (sensor gone)

Not really, our head bolts are torq. to yield and the spec is after the 2nd trq spec the 3rd is "turn 90*" more type instructions. So there is no real number to check.

Lower intake bolts I guess you could go over. It will be best to just get new vac. lines and check all the connections.
