I ordered a gt, was told I"d have it in November. No, sweat, small dealership, ordered on x-plan, I figured I could wait. The car is going right into the garage for winter anyway. At this point I figure I should have a build date, etc. The salesman gave me a story about their allocation, I empatically said that I wanted a build date. Today the sales manager calls me, very contrite and tells me they are trying to get the date for me. Then she says that she may have their ford rep call me! What is this?
Funny, I talked with the owner of another dealership, he wouldn't sell me a gt for a lower price, then says, "I'll talk with my GM and see what we can do". I can't imagine that the GM would have more pull than the owner...these guys also advertised for x-plan buyers, then wouldn't sell me one at that price.
How do these dealerships work? Honest, is this any way to run a company?
Thanks for listening,
Doc

he wanted to talk to the GM to see if it was worth it or not. if they have not sold very many cars this month, they might take the deal. but, if the have sold thier quota for the month, they are less likely to sell it on the cheap.

i ordered mine on Xplan....after 7 weeks of getting the run around and placing several calls to corporate i got fed up and went to the dealer and made a scene on a Saturday afternoon in the busy dealership. I made them pull me up on the computer and that was only after some very loud choice words in front of everyone on the show room. THE NEVER ORDERED MY F'IN CAR.

so i was calling week after week and they were just blowing me off. I told them if I do not have an order number ON monday I am coming down here and making the same scene. Said if I do not hwave a build # in 7 days I will come back here on Saturday and cause the same scene. I called Ford immediatly when I went home and told them of my experience and told them I want them to call and for them to call me back with the person they spoke to and then I want the dealer to call and tell me themselves....bottom line it was the worst purchase experience i ever had and I think it was due to me using the X plan and them not wanting to give it to me.
But all I can say now after waiting almost 5 months, it was well worth the wait.

Polkthug,
I have had two phone messages from the GM of the dealership. She said that the ford rep said I'll have my build date will be around the 27th of this month and that I should have the car by 12/15. They seem pretty honest...I"ll do as you asked for the VOC and DORA.
Thanks guys,
praying they are on the level,
Doc

Hopefully they bumped you up. We need to verify on your DORA you have an "Order Type: X", which verifies Ford saw the order as an X-plan order. Also a look at the "Priority", if regional bumped you up, we can hope for a 1-9. (A dealer can give a best of 10, lower the number, the better)
