Fox Who has tucked their wheels and whats your setup?

Looking to lower my fox even more and run as big a wheel and tire combo as i can. I dont want to mini tub. Currently run 18x9 front and 18x10 rear with 295s...fox length axles and only slight rubbing on the inner well in the rear. Ive seen a number of foxes that sit down lower than mine with the tops of the tire tucked and not sure what kind of suspension setup is being run so it doesnt bottom out and what metal work needs to be done. Looking to run it like this pic

Any idea of cost for a shop to install mini tubs? And whats the largest wheel and tire you can run and still use factory suspension mounting points for coilovers?

I think a 275 on a 10" wide wheel is all you will be able to fit under the back without worrying about every bump. Even then your exhaust will be a tight fit.

Up front 18X9's with a 245/40 tire rub on my car, and Im barely lowered. Cant remember, what year is your car? Mine is an '89 with the smaller front fenders. I would consider an 18X8 with proper offset to tuck and still be able to turn. My 18X9s are a +30 offset and stick out with '94-'95 front spindles. I bet an S197 offset with '96+ spindles would fit well. Matter of fact, @95steedamustang , what is your set up on your T Top fox? If I remember right, I think its S197 offset wheels with '96+ SN95 front spindles and an SN95 rear axle?

My shop charges $4,000 to do the complete mini tubs and narrow the rear end to properly tuck the rear wheels. That includes rear coilovers and shocks/mounts.

My T-top had 96 spindles and I was running a 08 Saleen heritage wheel 18x9 and it would rub slightly on turns but mine was slammed. But the rear wheels only work with a Saleen/Svo axle setup and I had widened them to 10.5 inches
Then I decided to redo a set of 3 piece Saleen sterns. So I fabricated my own drop spindles to bring the front wheels in 5 mm and now run an 8 in the front and 9.5 in the rear.

I'm sure that everyone has noticed that the fender flares on that pace care are not stock.

Every time you tag me it’s going to cost you money, but after all, it’s only money and I just happen to have 3 sets of classic Sterns in stock. Lol!
But on the topic, I just looked at the car in the first post. Only way your getting that look is mini tubs and air ride. This latest hatch project already has the tubs and narrowed rear but is probably getting air ride next to get that same type of look. Without the stupid truck fender flares.

I saw that the pace is flared...just using the pic as reference. Most likely ill end up mini tubbing so i can run an 11 or 12" wide wheel. I have a few questions. Does anyone know if a panhard bar will still work? Was hoping to run my MM PHB and HD torque arm. And how adversly is the cornering affected by mini tubs if leaving the suspension mounts in factory location or as close to factory as possible?

It's gonna take more than just a mini tub to accommodate an 11-12" wide wheel. A 7.2" back spaced 10.5" wheel will push this far back on a stock length fox rear.

I plan to shorten the rear end as well. I read a few builds where they claimed the mini tub could fit a 12" wide wheel. I currently run 18x10 with 295s with only rolling my fenders...

I routinely run a 13 inch wide rear on builds with a mini tub and narrowed rear end.

I’m tucked! 17x7.5 06-11 crown vic wheels with 225/50r17 firestone wide ovals. 25mm spacers up front and cobra irs out back with stock cobra springs. Don’t ask me how it ended up so low in the back... it just did without any effort on my part. Must be a difference in upper spring perches between 1984 and 2004.
