Ok lets say 2 fox bodies have 347 strokers with 10:1 Compression, these cars are identical but both want to go faster. The one guy chooses to raise his compression to 12:1 and no other mods, the other guy opts for 8:5:1 compression and 15lbs of boost through a Vortech S Trim. Who would win this race, both cars have professional driver???

Note this is to shut a friend up!!!!

That high compression motor is going to gain maybe 15% more horsepower from the rise in compression, while that blower car will have his horsepower nearly double. This would be a NO contest race. The only advantage the high compression car would have is it would be a LITTLE bit lighter because it doesn't have a s/c on it.

Who in their right mind would be on the side of the n/a car for this? lol

All i have to say... is GOOD LUCK getting 15lbs out of a Vortech s-trim on a 347 stroker. That engine breathes way to much. You'd be lucky to get 8lbs on a s-trim. You'll need a T-trim or a YSI-Trim. The s-trim is to small for that kinda boost on a engine that flows that much. For a comparison. AFR 205's, 347 stroker, T-trim at 13-15 lbs of boost put out 607 rwhp. I got a dyno sheet infront of me. :nice: Now running a 347 stroker, 215's, and a YSI-trim w/ E85 would be killer.

Thanks for the replies guys, my buddy is listening to old mopar guys that tell him, ohhh Blowers and Nitrous and Turbos are for pussies, you need to shave your heads and raise your compression. Im not saying this doesnt work at all, please no one get offended, its just my buddy is talking, trans brake on a c4, 347 with 14:1 compression, and he wants a street car, i told him this isnt the way to go.

Rick91GT told me he built a motor for a local buddy that was a 345ci 14:1 compression that made 650HP and went 9.39 @ 144 in a 3200lb car. That's pretty good for an NA.

Although the heads were heavily worked over and oversized valves and all. I actually bought the heads of the above motor for my new build. :D

It probly revved to like 8k RPM and didn't like pump gas very much either :D

I think the blown car would win hands down. And I had a feeling this one would get off topic since bench racing can tend to lead to some disagreements, so I've been kinda keeping an eye on this thread. I want to give you guys a big :nice: for keeping this one on topic and giving your unbiased opinions in a very respectable manner. You guys usually only hear from us mods if you're doing something wrong, but you all did everything exactly right and deserve credit for it. :nice:
