Lately my freind has been driving his dads 03 cobra instead of his 96. Well rumor broke out that hes putting in a 01 cobra motor in it. Same night i found that out he found out i have a blower sitting in my room. He has all the same mods as me except the cobra intake, underdrives, subframes and he has the stock rims on it(not lowered) His best is a 14.3 and my best is a 13.9. He pulls 1.9 60's and the one time i went to the track I couldnt get it lower then a 2.1. Who do you think will win?

If the kid is young, I doubt he can drive, but to prove the capabilites of the 99+ DOHC motor, look at Bob Cosby. He's running 11.70's in legal form at a very heavy weight. At a lighter weight, he could run 11.50's, maybe lower. Those motors are nothing to overlook. Now, who has more power? You should by far. You should win, easily.

u should push 300 rear-wheel minimum with a blower, he won't push that with a 2001 DOHC..

and your torque down low will end the show pretty quick, you'll own him off the line all the way to the end.. have fun !!

basic math:
you = 300rwhp +
him = ~265rwhp

shouldnt be a problem

i also didnt think their isnt too great of an advantage in changing from a '96 cobra engine to an '01. they are only rated 15hp higher.

I dont think he's swapping a 96 Cobra engine for a 01 Cobra engine. More like a 96 GT engine for a 01 Cobra engine.
