Im sure i speak for a lot of us here when i say even though they're gm, they're still AWSOME trucks. I was just curious who's been around them and if they like them or not. I've personally only ridden in a turbo/trans am (1989 pace car) but those are more similar to GN's then anything (still awsome though). Anyways, fill me in guys!

um my friend chad has a cyclone.. his girlfriend emily has a typhoon...
chad's cyclone is now twin turbo and runs 10s...
emily's is a lil broken right now, but still runs 12's and picks up the front tires...

all wheel drive.. massive turbo.. and a pretty good sleeper... soo amazing..

I have been in a Cyclone......they are pretty stout for a stock truck but still just a S-10. I had a 91 S-10 with a 350 that me and a buddy built for his race car then I ended up with the motor. that was alot more fun to drive than the cyclone. I also had a Ford 8.8 rear end in it....Man I should have kept that truck.

My cousin owned a Cyclone back in the day. He got it brand new. It was mean as hell. It met a concrete embankment one day while he was being stupid. Thinking about it, I wish I had half the cars he has totalled. Ahhhh to be a rich kid without a care in the world. Too bad he had to grow up hahaha.

I almost rode in a Typhoon. It was coming hard towards Fiji; we got on the last plane to leave the island before everything was wiped out.

I don't know, but GM actually spelled it incorrectly as Syclone which I always thought was a little odd. Anyway, they're sweet trucks. I'd like to have one for a winter vehicle some day.

I remember when they were new at the dealers .... My dad and I went to look at them and they had a sticker on the inside of the tailgate that said something like "Total bed cargo not to exceed 500 lbs". I can still remember my dad looking at me and saying "what's the point of having a truck that can't haul anything over 500lbs?" I love the syclones but never rode in any.

IS the Typoon the Nice upgraded Blazer?

If so that thing was hot.....I was thinking of buying a old blazer and finding the body kit for it and throw a 5.7 TBI engine in there...that would be Super Hot!!

I will let you know when I get around to it-lol

I had a 92 Typhoon from 1998-2001. It is basically a GMC Jimmy with a all wheel drive from the Safari van and a turbo 4.3 liter rated at 285 hp. They where said to really have about 325hp. I had a Pit Bull chip and catback and ran a 13.70. Many Syclones will run that with no mods at all maybe even faster since they weigh about 500lbs less. But they are very hard to work on and find parts for. But if you do it right they will run 10s in the damn rain. The syclones went for 24k and the Typhoons went for 32k when new

I just bought a 93 Mustang GT two months ago after selling my Impala SS. I was seriously considering a SY but someone in Nevada is buying all of them. He bought over 20 of them off Ebay while I was in the market. So I gave up and bought a 5.0.

Umm low 14s high 13s for a stock Pickup/SUV back in the early 90s is fast in ANYONES book. Hell they are faster than stock fox bodies, and even a lot of bolt on ones! Definately badass trucks!
