Why do I have such low torque output, and how can I fix it?

get it retuned and i think you might be a little happier. My car made 309 RWHP and 311 RWTQ, with every horse i gained i lost torque, my car was running kind of fat then mike took some pressure out and thats when the torque started to drop off. granted my heads and headers (185's and 1 3/4 lt's) are way to big for my 306,they will work nicely w/the blower.

Yeah. Once the RPMs get above 3k, she's pretty fast. I was blasting in her tonight. I never got a professional tune job, I just kinda did it on my own, going with what was common, and what the car liked. I want to get a Tweecer, so I can do a dyno tune and set up a few programs, and that way when I change my combo in the future, the Tweecer can be reprogrammed for free, as opposed to buying a new chip. I find myself being more and more tempted every day to pull my intake and heads off and have them ported out. My friend brought up a good point though:the whole point of a H/C/I is to move more air into the motor. I still have the stock TB and MAF infront of my H/C/I, so I'm not maximizing it at all. I'm starting to think that those stock pieces may really be choking the crap out of my motor, and that's why it runs like it has no real cajones. I gotta get a 75mm MAF, some 24# injectors, and a 70mm TB already. Talk about not following through...

I think I may have found the culprit. I just installed an AutoMeter fuel pressure gauge, and it's showing me that I am only getting 30-32 psi of fuel pressure vacuum on. When I am idling or cruising, I get 30, when I go wot I get 32 or 33. I need to pull the vac line and adjust that. I think 41 psi vac off was where I want to be.

With the vacuum on, the pressure is supposed to go down. Only where there is no vacuum such as at WOT should it go to the max pressure. Thats why we adjust it with the vacuum off, to set the max limit.
