Will 17x9 wheels fit on a fox body

Are they afs wheels? I have 17x9 all around cobra replicas from AFS, not sure the backspacing, but most 17x9 wheels for fox bodies will fit.

i have 17x9 on my 87, i had to flip the rear quad shocks because its a 17x9 wheel and 255 tire.

the front is 235 tire and 17x9 as well i believe... it rubs a little when i cut the wheel all the way

if i were to do it again i would probably choose a smaller wheel, 17x8 perhaps and 245 all around..

Most of the time when I see guys with a 17x9 wheel up front the wheel is flush with the fender lip. To make it fit they use a 245 tire - yuck. Some think it looks OK, I think the tire looks too stretched on the rim for my taste. I have 17x8 bullitts up front with a 245/45/17 and the factory whell has a smidge over a 5.5" backspace and it fits and looks perfect. 8" width wheel up front is really the widest you want to go to give the proper amount of clearance. If you want to massage the fenders and alter your front suspension and try and make it work then maybe that's another story. a 17x9 or 18x9 will fit out back no problem but really take the time to get your backspace right. Make sure the exhaust pipe doesnt rub. 6" backspace for the rear is pretty good to fit a 17x9 with a 275/40/17 without any problem Flipping the quad shock will get you about another 3/16" of clearance or so but a nice set of control arms mounted up and you can throw the quads in the trash.
