Safe bet would be to leave it the way it is and just not have it louder .
I recommend building more motor and allowing the exhaust note to work itself out.

With stock engine, your exhaust is working fine
I think your current mufflers are upside down with the heat shields facing down?

Maybe they are upside down . That would mean they are also on backwards . maybe that’s why they sound louder then other OEM style . Btw , on the power band feel I have - is that a quality of the X over the H ?

Why even bother to Waist the energy on changing one muffler and make a mountain out of a mole hill ?
flow masters are cheap enough . Or dyno max ultra flows . Cut outs will sound terrible . Sorry I had to be this guy but just doesn’t seem worth the effort to do one muffler or make any logical sense

I went back over your thread, I gather you want some 'sound' out of your exhaust, here is what I would do, replace the h pipe with a non cat (off road) h pipe first, the cats cut some of the sound so this may give you what you are looking for, you can change it back if it's not acceptable,
