I can get some snow tires for a decent price with this size, do you think they will fit on a factory 2000 GT rim? I went to a tire size calc. site and it looks like it may throw the speedo off by 5%, which I am willing to deal with for the winter. I imagine that they will fit, just want to make sure...

-Thanks

Any 17" will fit, It's more of a Look right / Diameter issue.

A 225 will be narrower thats why the diameter is diiferent. Instead of the tire going slightly past the rim it will now cup in.

The 225's will look like crap! I'm not kidding. If you get them, ask for paper next time your at the grocery store, you'll need it for your head.

225s might be too small for the rim... your definitely putting the lips at risk for getting rashed by anything you drive close to.

Being a 225, a lot of rim will be exposed for dings, for winter tires, I would want side protection in case you slide into a curb. Don't want to ding up your rim, aluminum dings pretty easily. IMO

Thanks for the input, I guess you talked me out of it. The stock rims are only for winter use, and they are not worth a whole lot of $$$, but I guess I better go with something closer to factory size.
