I have a 275/40/17 on my facotry tri star's and they fit perfect. Thats the max i would go unless i stepped up in rim width.

+1 for 275/40/17 thats what i run on mine but keep an eye on the air pressure if slightly overinflated they will bow and wear faster in the center...

You'll need the 10.5" rim to run the 315/35 17s. You can buy them with a custom offset for the SN95. I think it was a 26mm offset but don't recall for sure. Look at the companies that sell reproduction cobra R wheels. One of them sells the rim ready to go custom made for a SN95 mustang with 315/35s. I can't recall the company name right now. I got them and they match my 9" Ford Cobra Rs on the front perfectly. Just change out the R center caps.

If your suspension is stock then flip the quad shocks so that they are on the inside. Then you MIGHT have to cut the braket for the emergency brake. It may not interfere or you may be able to bend it out of the way. Use a big zip tie or make a custom bracket to replace it and you're ready to go. (A extra fat zip tie will work fine). Shouldn't rub much if at all with the stock geometry. However, beware that if have or change to a torque arm suspension they WILL rub the inside wheel well at the top. The Torque arms don't make the wheels set any further in or out. But, it changes the geometry so much that on hard corners it will push the top part of the tire into the upper inner wheel well. (I know this from experience).

I also think the 315 is a bit big for the SN95. They don't stick out the side but 315s look more at home on a 2004.

The 295/40 17s have too much side wall IMO. The perfect fit is the 295/35 on 18" rims. But, then you have to change the fronts to 18s also. So, it's quite a bit more $$$. Me, I run my 315/35 17s on the street and if I want to rip it around corners I kept my 9" Cobra Rs with 275/40s as spares.

Hope that helps.

315's too big? Don't think so. If I could, I'd run a 335!

Good info. BFORD1. I'd also like to add that tire brand plays a factor as well. Some 315 are wider than other 315's. Some people will have a minor clearance issue, where others will not. For example, I had to roll the inner fender about an inch so my F1 315's wouldn't rub on hard bumps. My friend has Sumitomo 315's ..... and his did not need to be rolled.

I have 315's on my car but I have 10.5's on the back. I dont think 315's will fit on stock rims.

And ****, Id put tires that were so big you couldnt see between them if I could. When im showing someone my new rims the ass shot is always the first thing I show them.
