Will a Vortech SC destroy an LS1 ?

Well I raced a trans am tonight, even though I told the other driver I think I will loose, he still raced.

Will putting a Vortech SC on my car beat those pesky LS1's ?

If so, will he beat me on the line until I hit 3,5 rpms when my boost kicks in ?

And what's the difference between a V-2 and a V-1 vortech superchager ?

I raced a Vortech S/C 95 GT and beat him with my close to stock (air filter, cat-back) 99 Z28. It was very close though. We went to about 100 and I only had about 1 car length on him. He said he was running 5 psi. We raced later on and he beat me by like 10 lengths, but I was having fun spinning my tires through 1st and 2nd hehe. He said his car was putting down 330 rwhp.

WIth "just" a Vortech and no other mods, an LS1 may still win, but it would be close (at about 8 pounds)..those things are beasts.

(Depending on other mods, it will range from close to who knows). You will not DESTROY it.

REmember...if they are racing, they too may have some mods...it doesnt take a lot to get them over 400hp.

A 95 with air filter, cat-back, and 5 psi will not make 330 rwhp. Gotta have something else to get that kind of power from 5 psi. IMHO of course :D :jester:.

Gotta pay attention dude :D

He was talking about his 99 Z28 that has the filter and cat-back. : :flag:

But, no worries. its late!! :) (or early, depending on sleeping habbits.)

Hahahaha, you're right... it was probably way too late for me to be posting last night, I should have just gone to bed :).

If you can't beat an LS1 with a blower, you have problems.

Kurt

Uhh.. scuze me. The best WRHP a "relativly" stock sn95 could hope to acheive is around 250 perhaps a TAD higher, at 5 PSI.

With STOCK LS1's throwing down OVER 300 RWHP.. sorry man. but we have just simply got our work cut out for us.

Im a die hard Ford guy. but, you gotta give credit where its due.
The LS1 is a monster. (highly underated!!) I would be willing to bet that motor makes at LEAST 1 HP per/cube STOCK!!

Now, an LT1 is a different story. but I think they stoped using those in the trio around 98 or so.
