Sorry for the million questions but im about to drop in the 331 and when i get my temp tune and actual tune, im going to be asking powertrain dynamics to delete the EGR and smog pump from the computer...is this the right way of doing it?? or does the car NEED an EGR system??? Reason for deleting it is because im switching over to a Fox TB and seems like a hassle to plumb the coolant through the EGR spacer, i think this is a better way.

if you have someone that will pass you on CA emissions (visual check) then go for it.

the EGR system is to reduce NOx by keeping the cylinder temp below 2500*F.

the AIR (smog pump) is to help the Cats (by pumping in O2) reduce emissions.

do keep the PCV and the Evap systems.

shouldn't - the EGR comes on at cruise and replaces no more than 15% of the cylinder volume. the comp will see a lean condition through the O2s and compensate. plus, the chip will be programmed to keep the EGR off anyways.
