A friend of mine has a 2001 dodge rt truck.The only thing he has is a k&n filter and its an auotmatic.He swears he can smoke my 02 gt. I have headers,X pipe with magnaflow exaust, pullies,k&n intake,373 gears and its a 5 speed.What do you think.I know nothing about these trucks.

I believe the R/T model has the V-10 Viper engine in it. I believe they beat Lightnings in the 1/4 mile by .2 or .3. Just to give you a heads up. However, they do weight like 5,500lbs. I'd just be careful, i dont honestly know how that race would go.

Thats a fast truck, but even with his viper engine, i can't picture him beating your GT. Give it a go, and we'll find out!

The SRT-10 has the Viper engine. The R/T has the 5.9 liter. I don't know the times but I'm guessing that he's way heavier than you.

He said 2001, which was the 5.9 R/T not the 2004 SRT-10 which has the Viper engine.

The 5.9 R/Ts are nice for being trucks but you will smoke the S*** out of him. They are not all that fast, although, everyone who has them thinks they are. So your friend is like any other R/T owner. Take his ass to school...

no question about it, he doesnt stand a chance. The R/T is actually a dakota (not a fullsize truck so therefore a little lighter) but they all came with the 5.9 and are 2wd. The 5.9 makes around 245hp and 335 ft lbs. They basically turn maybe low 15's to high 14's at the track.

I have raced a few in my stock automatic GT and beat thm with no problem. The only one I lost to had a built motor and was supercharged and he still only won by like a car. U will smoke him.

so what if he throws a procharger on there? my buddy wants to race me and he has a 03 RT and just put a supercharger on it. I plan on getting my dr's and adding my other mods that I have stashed, think I will stand a chance?

What does that mean??? The SRT-10 DOES have the Viper engine. And if he WAS racing an SRT-10, he'd most likely lose.
