I know it's a free mod and would hate to pass it up. I have pulleys and the needle is already between the R and M, would advancing the timing just finish killing it??
With pulleys you have to run a 180 thermostat. The water pump pulley is much larger then stock. Hopefully you changed yours.
Your car won't heat up by turning the timing up. It's not really a free mod because the car will most likely need high octane (90+). Some people can get away with running the cheap fuel and others can't.
about the octane, i had been running 93 for about 8 months and never really thought twice about it. after reading a thread about "THE TRUTH ABOUT OCTANE" i changed down to 87 and noticed my car a little lighter and more responsive. idk, i guess i'll advance my timing and get the 180 thermo cause i didn't change that out.
