Will they make a trailer hitch for 2005 GTs?

I know most of you dont have trailer hitches on your mustangs, but I have to. I cant afford 2 cars. I have a jetski that weight 350lbs, and I would guess that the trailer weights 200-300lbs. I would love to have a trailer hitch that is hidden, so that you cant see it unless you look under the bumper. Is this even possible on a mustang?

I've seen a trailer hitch on the SN95s so I'm sure it's only a matter of time until one is made for the 5th(?) generation. I don't know how well you could hide it, and of course you would be very limited in towing capacity since it's a unibody. It would probably be enough for your needs though.

1000 lbs

owners manual says up to 1,000 lbs. Putting on a hitch will be possible as the GT and the V-6 have similar rear frame setup.

Just wait, I went to the car part store to verify oil filter, even their computer doesn't show filter size yet--just too new.

So wait, your will be able to google hitch soon.

Don't worry, a hitch will available in a few months if not sooner. I have a Reese Shadow Mount on my 2000 GT that can't be seen when the drawbar is not in use. And don't take any lip from anyone who says you shouldn't tow. I've towed with a '67, '88 and now my 2000. It does a fine job pulling a light boat and it wouldn't even notice a jet ski. Heck, it has more torque than most any small truck or SUV.

Actually Mustangs while they are small cars... they are not compact cars and therefore are not Unibody they have a Frame. Built on the same frame as the Ranger.

What a hoot! That would make selling sub-frame connectors like selling refrigerators to an eskimo. Any anyway, whether or not a vehicle is a unibody is not all that important in towing capacity. An Escape is a unibody and it can tow 3500 lbs., more than a full-framed Crown Victoria.

I had a Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch on my '01 stang and it just bolted up to the frame with no drilling. Also, it was very well hidden and all you could see is the small square for the hitch, everything else was under the bumper. I think the towing capacity was 1000lbs. I used it to tow a small aluminum boat which probably weighed about 250lbs w/ trailer. I had the v6 and I didn't even feel it when I was towing. If you want a really nice hidden one wait until "Hidden Hitch" makes one for the '05.

Hehe.. And about the Ranger thing... lol that was what a friend told me. I just hate how some people compare our cars to those compacts which are just one assembly with no front or rear I beams and no frame... those compacts are just toy cars of plastic that run. I like cars with steel frames and METAL for this metal drummer haha.
