Will Tires Fit?

Will this size tire, 235/55/ZR17 fit a 1998 Mustang GT Convertible? Wheels are 17 X 8. The company I'm considering buying them from suggested a 1/4 spacer for the rear, any ideas, recommendations?

buy from a different company. 315/35/18's can fit in the back, and they are like a foot wider than 235's, lol. Why the 55 profile?

They are take off's and I can get a good deal, so, I need new tires, those are cheap and new, plus I like the wheels better than my stock wheels...hence the question.

Oh, well it depends on the backspacing and offset of the wheels then.

I think those wheel will be too tall.
they will probably fit (if your car isn't lowered) but they are a about 2 1/2" taller than the right sized tire...and accourding the uber useful "Miata Tire Calculator" your speedo will read almost 10% too slow (when your speedo says 60 MPH you will be going 65.5 MHP)

I am going to take a wild guess....are you looking at 05+ GT take off wheels/tires? I havnt read much or am not 100% sure, but I do not know of 05+ GT wheels will fit 94-04 cars....maybe thats why they told you that you will need the spacer?

the 05+ wheels will physically fit, but they look dorky. offset is all different.

Thanks for all of the inputs, I've decided to pass on these tires/wheels, I'll just break the piggy bank and get some wheels/tires that are right for the car. Any suggestions? I'd prefer chrome wheels...
