Wont go past 5100 rpm

I got a stock motor 94 gt with exhaust and pulleys
last night I was driving hard and around 5100 it stopped pulling
There was no stuttering or anything it just seemed to stop pulling...
What is a stock 302 normally able to rev to? I know most people shift around 5k but what SHOULD i be able to get to?

Can this be a fuel, spark, or valve float issue? Is there a way for me to test for one of the 3?
Otherwise car seems to run fine but maybe a tad rich

Mine will pull fine up past 6k, and is mostly stock, mind you, it doesn't pull nearly as hard past, say, 5500. The power curve on the stock motor just plummets after 5k-ish rpm. Did you swap computers as well when you swaped in the T5? If so, you could also check to see if your fuel pressure is up to par, and also check your coil and ignition module, as these things may not perform so well at high rpm's when they start to go.
Can you rev past 5100 in neutral or with the clutch in?

Thats completely normal. The stock heads and intake are both murderous. You have a nice exhaust but you're engine is having trouble inhaling.

If you search around you'll find a lot of guys shift a stock GT right around where you notice the car hit a wall. I know I did until the intake and gears, and now I will shift it around 5600.

I noticed the same thing on my car... I just assmued it was the heads/intake not getting enough air flow. it pulls fine, then hits 5200, and drops off drastically. who cares...the parts to my new motor are coming in almost everyday, it's like Christmas every day after work for me!
