Worth The Trade?

Ford really shot themselves in the foot when they discontinued that little Jem. I guess the reason they dropped them was because they didn't prove much better on fuel than their full size line....but can you imagine if they still sold that little sucker with Ecoboost technology under hood. They wouldn't be able to keep them on the lots.

I think it was more a result of the rise in popularity of spec'd out, full size (luxo) trucks. Ford still sells the Ranger everywhere else in the world. The coolest little Ranger I ever drove was a crew cab powered by a little four-cylinder diesel mated to a 5-speed in Kyrgyzstan.

By the way, I'm pissed I didn't know a forum member in Germany. I worked at Baumholder and have buddies still in Kusel.

Kusel is an awesome little place. I work down at Ramstein. We have less than a year left before going back to the states, though.

I lucked out and when to Kyrgyzstan during the summer. Nice weather then. I left in early-October just when it was starting to get chilly at night.

I have a buddy who went there during the middle of winter. Double digits below zero and tons of snow every single day. I'm glad we stopped going there.

That fox is worth less than a grand, if you can buy it for like 500 and fix it, but I'd avoid it otherwise.
