Would Changing the Paint Color hurt the Value of the Stang?

I bought an 1989 Mustang GT Convertible - White with White/Blue leather interior, blue plastic, etc.

The rag top was replaced with Black, which I dont think looks good with the white - plus the white shows so much dirt, debris, etc I was thinking of doing the car Blue with White racing stripes at best since I think it'll go better with the black top. Would this hurt the value of the car since its not "original"

Also - what do you guys think? White or Blue!

No. Whoever did the two-toned interior already devalued it. Paint will make no difference at all.

Its a 22-year old car....don't sweat it. I'd be worried less about changing the paint colour hurting its value and more about making sure it was a decent job. Under hood area, door sills, trunk....everything.

...and I vote more for chaning the seat covers, than chaning the exterior colour. Those look awful IMO.

The body overall is good - a little JB weld on a crack on the rear bumper as well as some bondo around the edges and side skirts (from rocks and what not) would make it perfect

there are no dents/dings/anything anywhere - I think after a good sanding and paint the car will look amazing

But yeah, the Bra sucks so bad LOL - And Im still pretty sure the seats are original - I dont think anyone would intentionally put those seats in LOL

Yeah probably - the car also has blue calipers

Well - so the seats devalue it? In any event since I dont want to replace them, shoudl I go with blue or white??? I'd even do black to match the top, but with a while/blue interior it might be kinda tacky

I've seen it on a ton of fox's and it alwyas looks good...especially black/white - i mean, if the interior has already ruined the value then id rather just paint it for myself and not to ever see a return on it

ehh the top is like... a 9/10 with only one small rip forming - wouldnt be worth the $$$ to swap it since im pretty sure its not cheap

My car is white with a black roof. I think it looks good. I think if it was triple white with all the moldings, mirrors and windsheild frame being white, the yeah a white top.

Depends......

If the entire car was stripped and everything painted like the door jambs, engine bay, and every possible area that can be viewed on an assembled car...then no.

But if you open the door on a red car and see a blue door jamb....then yes.
