wtf??????

well i just got done installing a set of upr upper and lower fully adjustable control arms and now my car makes a whining noise and sounds like crap. I checked the angle of the rearend and lined everyhting up and it still sounds like crap anyone got any clue what the deal is? thanx

Can you describe more -- are you talkign vibrations or exhaust noise or what? Where is it coming from?

well its kinda weird sounds like its coming from the rearend its like a whinning noise. Now i noticed it goes away though if im driving and i push in the clutch and coast down a hill i dont hear anythign but as soon as it goes back into gear it whines, and you hear like a rattling noise and just a weird noise that sounds like its coming from the rear end. Now i chekced my mufflers to make sure they wernt rubbing with the driveshaft and one of the mufflers i couls put my fingers between it and the driveshaft but the other one wasa little tighter but not touching. hope this helps.

You checked the angle of the rearend correct, what degrees was it at after you finished your install?

as far as i know i checked it right its at 5 degrees

That sounds like a lot of angle for solid or poly bushings (according to my reading) -- but I don't really see why it would make it whine. Whine sounds more like a gear related problem...or at least coming from the gears. It's possible you're hearing the rearend more than you did before -- that's my best guess.

I just finished my setup -- very similar to yours with the UPR uppers and lowers. Mine are all metal excetp for the axle end of the lower is poly -- so it's alot of solid. I can hear all the road noise in mine without the backseat in and no insulation or tar on the floor. I can also hear my rear screaming! I also just had my rear setup with 4.30's and very loose, so that could be why in my case -- but we're going to put a little more preload on my setup and put in my backseat and see how it sounds. It might just be not as loud as I think.

Just something else to think about...

ya i was thinking that just the other day i might just be actually hearing things that i didnt before because of the setup now. Thanx for the input
