I'm looking at a Bassan catted hiflow to install on a Procharged 02 GT with Borla cat backs. My issue is with emissions. Do the mil's work? Waste of $$? Wouldn't it be better to have the 02sensors working in case there is some kind of problem I live in a strict emissions testing county. OBDll testing. Thanks

Well in some cases a catted after market x pipe will have no problem passing emmsions. I don't think that it will pass every time especially in California because the exhaust is not stock and your are working with a high flow exhaust. Mils just turn off that check engine light it does nothing to control emissions. Off road pipes never pass emmisions. So if you have emissions testing keep your stock midpipe and reinstall it every year at registration time.

all an mil is going to do for you is bypass the 02 sensor on your off road pipe so your car isn't constantly trying to tell you to go in to the shop to fix a non existant cat. If you got cats you don't need, aftermarket or not

Doesn't the car run a little richer w/o the cats? Would the mil's fix that by telling the car everything is fine?

it's my understanding that all the mil's do is send the appropriate code or at least prevent an error code from being sent to the cpu when it is monitoring your o2 sensors so you don't get the check engine light. Therefore your engine light will still come on if some other sensor or device malfuctions that requires attention. I've never heard anyone mention that it runs richer but I couldn't imagine what the mil's would do to fix that problem even if that is the scenario. I would think you would need either a programmer or some type of chip to correct that one.
