so lately my stang, my baby, who ive put so much time and money into.. has been frustrating the heck out of mye.

#1. I test drove an 07 gt today, BONE STOCK. This thing ripped, and it felt like it pulled harder and stronger than my car does, and its heavier too. this thing drove smoothly with no creaks, buzzes, or bucks and handleded very well. Now how the heck, after 8k into my car, was this thing so much nicer to drive? that really got me frustrated.

#2. I got walked on by some ricer yesterday. dont know what was in it, but i was pissed none the less.

#3. Ive spent, like i said, about 8k on my car, and am still yet to be satisfied with the power, looks, handling, and overall quailty of the ride. I mean, i love this car to death, and i keep thinkin one of these mods is gonna do it, but it never does.

overall, i think you might understand what im getting at, and im really frustrated with all the hours ive worked to pay for stuff, and time in the garage workin on the thing. my solutions im thinking of are...

1. Buy a jms or mongoose vortech kit and hope that turns it alll around.
2. Keep on going with the small stuff, next i was going to do bbk ceramic shorty's (yes.. shorties), and a pa-racking k member, and throw on some new poly steering rack bushings.
3. Work on the looks and comfot.. 03 cobra sideskirts, find out how to stop all the buzzing crap everywhere, and a few other things
4. Just stop dumping money into it because its not going to make me happy. (as i know my bible tells me is true, but this is my hobby, cmon!)

what did u guys do in times like these? little help for a needy stanger'

Just put in some 4.10's and go with it. Hold off until 2009. Then buy a new Mustang. That's my plan. You could boost your car, but since you already like the new GT's....one of those with a s/c would still be faster than yours with a s/c. Unless you pull out the stops and spend lots of money. Money that makes a good down payment on your new GT. Buy a new GT. We need the dues.

You spent $8k on it and still don't have a blower? Your car must be a corner carver then..

Anyways a blower should help out a lot, and don't be let down because you lost to some lame ricer. There will always be someone faster, ricer or not.

I doubt you can fix all the rattles and squeaks in a Mustang..it's part of the standard equipment on Fords. LOL

I'd keep the 02. It may be slower than other cars but it sure is a good car to modify.

The mods in your sig dont add up to anything like 8k? I think a lot of us screwed up and bought bolt-ons instead of just buying a blower. Going FI is the single best mod.
I'm very happy with my mods though, even though my car isnt really very fast at all. I'll definitely be getting a blower in a year or so, but for now it handles SO MUCH better than stock, sounds awesome, and looks great.
I wont be buying another car as long as I can make this one faster. New cars cost WAYYYY too much. I don't think I'll ever buy another brand new car.

theres alot more money in a car than the mods. and all labor was done myself, even the cams. After 420 for a blown spark plug (towing, new cop, fuel pressure sensor, labor), and another 500 or so for repairs from SOMEBODY (wish i knew who)... who backed into .. luckily, my side scoop, put a few dents and scrathes in... believe me. im pretty precise with my statement of 8 grand, and ALL maint has been done. mods themselves were total about 6 grand, and ive had the car tuned twice. btw, dont forget i have chrome saleens w/ new tires.

its alright to laugh about whatever, but im looking at total about 21 grand that im pretty unsatisfied with, and thats what makin me annoyed with it. plus, i could only get about 16 for it.

if you want a new Mustang, wait until the new 5.0L comes out. it will be a better engine than the current 3V.

if you choose to stay with your current Mustang, look for good deals and do the install yourself. you can find alot of good used blowers for a decent price over at the modularpowerhouse forums.

Sorry. Bites. But it doesnt matter what you drive someone can still hit it.

And you wont get 16k for a 2002 coupe anywhere either. More like 13k.:nonono:

007, did you notice ANYthing with your shorty headers? i would hope they would do something with my cams, and i cant justufy l/t's with their hassles and needing a new mid pipe and all that. plus their expensive for a good set. i also got this hanging idle crap that i just dont understand :nonono: . it only gets better.. haha.

i know i shouldnt complain so much because i have some things i know other people would like, (prob no you guys tho), but i just expected more out of them.

They are heavier and make only a few more HP. Must have been your imagination, especially with your mods versus a stock car. Their suspension setup is better than ours stock vs stock though, and the chassis is more solid.

So what, there's always someone faster than you.

See your #1 below.

That's what I would do. You just need to be sure that you have the cash to lay down for a motor should something unforseen happen when you boost it.

2. Keep on going with the small stuff, next i was going to do bbk ceramic shorty's (yes.. shorties), and a pa-racking k member, and throw on some new poly steering rack bushings.

Sounds like you're more interested in power than looks at the moment. Shorties are a waste, don't even bother.

3. Work on the looks and comfot.. 03 cobra sideskirts, find out how to stop all the buzzing crap everywhere, and a few other things

Do the power first, then the looks.

4. Just stop dumping money into it because its not going to make me happy. (as i know my bible tells me is true, but this is my hobby, cmon!)

You have to decide that yourself....ie, how much longer you plan to keep the car versus how much $$ you're willing to invest to get you to your goal.

007, did you notice ANYthing with your shorty headers?

Not enough. Mine were cheap tho. I have a friend who installed them for 150 and the BBK shorties were 270 bucks. SOTP says they were about the same as TB/Plenum, so I wouldn't bother if I were you. Shorties can be good on boosted cars though, so when i get my blower I might get more pay-back...

I'm with this guy, and this is my plans im just going to throw on the 4.10s i got and some stg1 cams and be done till 09 and get a new gt. Cause by then i can use my car for trade-in and ill have a nice DP ready.

i feel your pain man. Its the same thing with me and my bros 07 GT my car pulls just as hard as his does until about 60 and then that 3v really comes alive cause it just breathes better than the 2vs do up top.
