Miami, Ok
ok you guys know my mods, thumper e7s, b-cam, typhoon blah blah its all in my sig. i added my SC making 5 psi on this past month and ran it last weekend ran like poo only trapped 105

this past week i have been tinkering and tuning with timing and FP

sat the base timing to 15* over the 10* i had before. it helped out alot. messed around with FP and it seemed to run better with lower psi like 35 or less

made it to the track today
now this was a HOT day, mid to high 90s real hot.

timing was 15* like i sat it before with 91 octane with no detonation
first pass ran a [email protected] with a 1.77 60' i was pretty pleased it picked up MPH and i thought thats all it had the run felt decent.

before i made my next pass i adjusted the FP to 43 or so at idle with line off and plugged. made a pass and it ran worse, managed a [email protected] i was like ok that made it worse i will take the FP out of it.

adjusted the FP to 32-33 and let it cool down some.

my next pass when i did my burnout it got them good and hooking, the tires were trying to hook and go during the burnout, hasnt done that much with these fairly wornout ET streets i am running.

anways i get to the line and i launched at like 6k or something and the car LIFTED UP and felt like it was taking off for flight, scared the crap out of me, my car has never hooked like that before. IM talking HOOKING, its a completly different feel that it was before. the car got all squirlly and i about went into the other lane, i kept into it and made a great pass. ran a 1.73 60' despite the insane launch. ran a [email protected] MPH i was like DAMN, what a good ol car. i was impressed i thought the car could go that fast but i didnt think it would.

next pass i messed with FP a little bit and it was a bad pass. bad launch and ran a 13.0@107 or so, just one of those crapp passes.

my last and BEST pass, set the FP back to 32-33 where it liked it, did a good burnout and i was ready for the insane launch this time around. i popped the clutch at 6k and it took of again, this time it didnt overcome me i handled it much better and kept it straight.

and this was my best run and i am very happy, here is the whole time slip

RT: .0390
60':1.7098
330':5.1244
1/8ET:7.9573
1/8MPH:86.47
1000ET:10.4155
1000MPH:100.20
1/4ET:12.4556
1/4MPH:111.08 <---- :nice:

i was like man this car isnt so slow after all lol

i was content with this pass and put the street tires on and we left. with the A/C and all lol a true street car :D

i was just getting dialed it real nice and probably could of got the ET down some but i am VERY happy with the 111 MPH

and remember this was on a mid-high 90* day
STOCK computer, no tuning, only things i mess with is timing and FP

i cant wait to run it again in the fall with some cooler weather, like 60-70 degrees that would help out

i am also looking to maybe get a blower cam, maybe a good OTS since my stuff is pretty mild or maybe custom i duno

and probably get a tweecer to get some tuning going on this beast
and a powerpipe and a bigger crank pulley and hope to hit at least 8 psi
with that i am hoping for 11s fairly easily.

we got some sick video of the car today i wish i could post them up having a hard time finding a connector i need to upload video, and a photographer was there and he had his computer and printer at the track and was selling pics, we bought a nice pic of my car leaving the line, the whole front end is unloaded, if it had just a little more power i'd probably pull the wheels

just letting you guys know lol

thanks for all the help you guys give me, looks like all my hard work and money is starting to pay off.

and its a STEP UP from the old 16.7-8 days, some of you may remember.

later:D

yeah but for a hot 95 degree day and stock computer i think its pretty good.

BTW i have been running my et streets without them screwed down to the rim, they are tubed and i marked the rim and wheel with some white-out and my left tire slipped about and inch and my right tire slipped about a 1/4 inch, makes it feel like your putting down some power lol

i need to screw the tires down and get a DS loop, the track is cracking down and requiring ds loops if you run a sticky tire.

DS loops are like guns....better to have one and not need it than to need one and not have it.

I've seen driveshafts fail both on the street and at the track and it's never pretty. The one time i saw it on the street was in a big block Malibu...it actually shot the drive shaft out from the side of the car (the rear universal busted and it came out of the trany) and landed about 30 feet away in a field.

Nice pass, but I REALLY think you should get a tune or your going to start blowing headgaskets like there is no tomorrow(cant believe you didnt already). Reason I say this is because of your base timing and fuel, timing is REALLY high and the FP is pretty damn low. Seriously spend the $500 or so and get it tuned right. Make more power and be way safer.

we get decent gas in my area and my car always liked the timing i could run 16* on 87 in the 100 degree heat with not a lick of problems. since i got the SC all i have been running is 91 and started with 10* timing moved up to 15 and left it there.

before i go back to the track i plan to at least to tune/get a tune for the car and the power pipe maybe the blower cam. i would like to get a grasp on tuning the computer before i throw more boost on top of it

as for the FP i duno if its just the FMU dumping mad amounts of fuel in there, running higher FP killed performance. the fmu will be ditched with the tune anways so no worries there.

the car is getting HORRIBLE gas milage, i hope to fix that with a tune also
i think the FMU is just DUMPING the gas in under boost, the car doesnt smell rich much at idle. might have a gas smell every once in a while but what modded stang doesnt.

Those are some good times...especially the 60' times. I think if you ditch the FMU, get a good tune at 12.5:1 AFR you should see those times come down another couple tenths. Do you have a boost gauge on the car? Do you see boost immediately on the launch? Does the car bog at all when you leave the line from 6k? Are you just dumping the clutch at WOT? Nice times man

Nice times!!

Need to get that thing up to Jop sometime. You gonna be at the Kan this fri??

Thinking about making my first 15 sec passes in the new fox.

doubt i will be there this fri. i may go to the fords invade deal in like a month, i cant wait to see what the cool weather does for times. plus i want to try and get some new stuff on.

i have a boost gauge but didnt pay attention to it upon launch. i am pretty sure its making boost at launch because it hauls

if i give it less than 4500 on launch the car will bog.
the last few i made yesterday, it was pretty warm outside, and the burnouts were good and the tires were getting STICKY, doing the burnout the tires would try to grab the ground and would try to kill the engine.

i just stage up a the line. as soon as me and the other car are staged, i start to rev up to around 5-6k and as soon as i see the 3rd yellow come on i floor the gas and dump the clutch.

the last few passes were my best, and the car didnt bog or anything, just picked up the front end and left the line HARD.

i got the technique down finally, i just need more power to get into 1.6 60's and head on down from there.

As long as he isnt getting detonation and extremely high cylinder temps/pressures then he should be alright. It seems like he has a lot of fuel in there from that FMU. Richer AFR's are much safer in this regard.
