I bought a set of cobra injectors a while back out of a running car and the maf tube with sensor. The injectors are 24# and the tube is something like 75mm or around there i forget the exact measurement. Do I really need to get a sensor that is calibrated for the injectors? Many people have said yes but the auto parts store say that the sensors have the same part number as the regular GT sensors making them the same sensor. Im a little confused by all this. Anyone know for sure????

Your sensor and injectors need to match. If your sensor and the injectors are both from the Cobra, then run them. BTW, most of the clowns behind the counter at parts stores(Advance, AutoZone, etc.) don't have a clue what they're talking about. Maybe that's just my experience, but I kind of doubt it.

The parts store is mistaken...
The 5.0HO and 93 Cobra use different MAF/MAS parts.

Since you currently have the 24's and 93 Cobra MAF/MAS, you may as well pick up an X3Z (93 Cobra) ecu.
OR
Don't use the 93 Cobra MAF/MAS, and instead run an aftermarket meter for the 24's and an A9* ecu.

Those are the best options I can think of...

The most ideal way to do it is to use something like the Tweecer to tell the ECM you now have bigger injectors. Since that is expensive and a lot of people are intimidated by doing things like that, most people get a MAF that is calibrated for the different size injectors. This is really just a way to fool the ECM. C&L and PMAS are some of the companies that make these types of sensors. Like Jason said above, the easiest way to install them is to either get a Cobra ECM or get an aftermarket MAF calibrated for the 24's.

Do you think this could be a problem in the car not running?? And soes anyone know where i can get a sensor or ecu?? I have looked for that stuff and cant find anyone who has got one

I'm getting confused, so let's start from scratch...

You have a set of 24's, and an unkown MAF/MAS tube.
Post the part numbers on the MAF/MAS, that will help figure out what it is.

What ecu do you have?
You may need to pull the computer from the kickpanel to verify the catch code.

Once we know what MAF/MAS and ecu you currently have, then we can discuss options for making these parts work.

it is a stock cobra mass air meter. i will get the numbers tom. i kno the ecu is A3M. i am looking at a meter i found on ebay that is calibrated for 24's right now would that be the same as the cobra?

Nope, it won't be the same.

The problem is that Ford calibrates the MAF/MAS to the ecu it will be used with.
The injectors 'calibrated' into the ecu as well.

The injector and MAF settings are done separately in the ecu.

Aftermarket MAF meters can be 'calibrated' to a injector size AND ecu. The and is important, as a 24Lb MAF calibrated for a A9L ecu won't be the same as a 24Lb MAF calibrated for an X3Z.

MAF/MAS
Injector
ecu
All 3 must be thought of as a matched set.
When you change one of them, the others are affected.

If you would like to send me a pm with a link of the meter you saw, I can take a look at it...

So i would be good with a X32 ecu. Everything should work then?

An X3Z... yeah, that would probably be the best option you have in front of you.
The X3Z ecu's can be pricey though... take a look around and see what you can find...

FIRST
You still need to confirm the part number of the sensor you have though..........

So, what you have is...
ECU: A3M
MAF: 93 Cobra 70mm / F1SF
INJ: 24Lb

The MAF is the oddball unit there...
Your options are...
1. Get an aftermarket MAF meter calibrated for 24's and the A3M.
2. Get a custom chip burned which will allow the use of the 93 Cobra MAF meter.
3. Find a 93 Cobra X3Z computer

Maybe there is a 4th option, but I can't think of it now...

The cheapest route is the calibrated MAF meters. But the downside is that sometimes there are issues with them.

Using a tuner in order to run a Ford meter is a good solution because there usually aren't many issues reported from Ford meters. A tuner will allow other changes in the tune as well, such as timing and fuel.
The downside to a tuner is the cost, and time needed to learn the system...

The best for 'driver' Mustangs is probably the X3Z option. This will give you stock Ford drivability with the 24's. The X3Z can be kinda pricey though.

If you need more help narrowing down your options let me know.
