Questions on 15x8 wheels with 5" BS

I recently bought a set of centerline telstars off ebay that were listed at 5.5" backspacing. I got them, 5" backspacing. Worked it out with the seller but I still have these wheels. 5.5" backspacing is correct for a fox, I know that but could these work? Going to be running a 275/60/15 BFG DR's. Don't want any cutting of the tires at all. Currently have draglites with 275/50/15 tires with 5.5" backspacing and they have never rubbed on the lip. Pictures would be cool also. Thanks.

I have 16x8 Telstars with 5.0" backspacing, and with 255/60/16 MT drag radials they'll be about perfect once I get the rear dropped a bit. Not sure how the section width differs with tires you're looking at

pounding. Stock height. I put in airbags just in case but only have about 5 pounds of air in them.

I gather that you'd have some rubbing problems if your car was lower stock ride height with 275 series tires on those rims.

Thats basicly like having a 4.5" BS 8" wheel, no clue how that doesnt rub.

Yea thats what I figured, Iam going to try and tuck the 28's so it doesnt sound like these wheels are going to do the trick. Oh well I'll just have to sell them.

Thats what I heard way back also, but iam not so sure with a 28" tall tire. Maybe I'll end up sticking with a 26".

You are correct!

I'm glad someone finally is making the correct backspacing for Fox's again.

Weld still does not offer a 5 inch BS on an 8" rim yet. Ever since they went away from the XP's.

Well I decided to sell them, I need as much room as possible in the front to drop the car some and run a 28" tire. Thanks.
