What Ford gears dont whine?

Theres a thread on modularfords about Motive making FRPP gears at one point. I was set on getting my 373s from buyfordracing.com, but im leary about getting them and having them turn out to be the ones Motive made.

I found a set on ebay with this part number, M-4209-F373N. I searched online and someone said that they spoke to someone at frpp and said that those werent the ones that whine.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the authentic frpp gears plz. Or if someone has the above can ya tell me if they are the real deal or not?

Heres the thread BTW:

my mechanic (who's done dozens upon dozens of installs on friend's stangs) did my 3.73s (FRPP) and they whined. I had him completely strip it down and redo the install again with a new set of FRPP gears. Same whine. Don't bash my mechanic, he's been working on mustangs for countless years on countless sickly built cars.:nice:

My fix was I finally got a full exhaust.

What whine? :nice:

If you're happy, we're happy.:rlaugh:

We don't have to hear it whine.:nice:

Some gears will whine regardless of how perfect the install is.

Metal content and they way they are produced can cause whine on a perfect install. Thats how mine are, and everything checked out perfect from the 35 year ASE Tech that installed them.

FRPP and Motive arent one of those brands however, although I have know a person or two with FRPP's that whine a little on a good install.
