First Time on a REAL Drive Since New Engine...One Issue!

Other than little mini trips to the gas station, Walmart and the bank, I have never really taken the car out for a REAL drive. Today, since the temp was in the low 70's I decided to take it out on the hwy to get my girls from school.

Temp stayed consistently at or slightly under 180 despite some stop and go and some 70-80 mph hwy driving...+1.

Even though every little odor in the air had me on guard, nothing seemed to leak, break, snap or fall off....+2.

MAIN ISSUE: When I was ALMOST at the school, car stalled when starting to move after light turned green. THen I crossed into the school parking lot, and it stalled out 3-4 times driving slowly through the parking lot and/or driving over speed bumps.

Will be touching base with Wes about tuning issues related to this, but will hear (read) any input anyone has for now regarding this issue.

All in all was pretty satisfied with first main run.

Thanks

Congrats on taking it for a nice drive!

Shoot me a driving/coast down log with your AFR in it. Sounds like we may need to tune in the ISC valve a bit.

Wes

Thanks Wes...Just because I havent been in touch for awhile doesnt mean that I dont "need" you anymore :nice: Just been real busy. Too bad I didnt data log what was going on.

On the way home, it didnt do it.

At the time it DID stall, it was dropping low in the RPM's. I let it sit a minute when I parked it, and it started right back up without issue. Ill try to data log the next time I drive for awhile.

Thanks

Most of the time a warm surge is due to the fueling being off (often to the rich side) and the ISC not being quite right.

Logging the AFR at startup and making sure commanded equals the wideband and then tackling the idle air (if necessary) will fix most problems like these.

Ah there's so much to this stuff and every car is always a little different. I learn something every time I have one on the dyno. Always happy to help someone that is motivated to tune their car themselves. There's a lot to it but with some determination it's doable.

Only because YOURE not here to do it ALL for me! :rlaugh:

J/k. It's actually pretty cool to load a file to you car's computer sent to you from someone across the country and see changes in your car's performance :hail2:
