welp, it finally happened

I've seen your car there, man. I was there with my Stang not too long ago meeting up with my buddy (dunno if you know him, Alex Steck, drives a blue RSX Type-S), and he was telling me about your car. I think you were parked next to a black Mach 1. :nice:

yup, that was mine. I just had Alex again in my last class. He was trying figure out some problem with his HID's in our Electrical Diagnosis course

January 25th Update

Picked up a sand-filled soft head hammer from OSH today and hammered the main caps off. The stock crank was pulled and I placed the Cobra crank in to check the clearance (all is good).

January 30th update

I took one of the pistons to school and measured it out to 3.549" at the middle of the wrist pin, and 3.550 at the bottom of the skirt. So they're stock bore. Tomorrow I have a friend coming over from school with a micrometer and some T-gauges and we'll measure the block so I can order the pistons on friday.

Oh yeah, this weekend, I'm tearing into the Mustang's stock motor. I'm gonna drain her fluids, start removing the top-end stuff and other items in prep for engine removal and break down.

Feburary 1st update:

I worked on the ride for a few hours before calling it quits to get into my Steelers gear View attachment 273338

All fluids are drained except the transmission fluid (doh!). Pulled the hood, battery, plenum/TB combo, injectors and rails. The O/R X-pipe is mostly disconnected except a bolt which refuses to come loose. I have that one soaking in PB Blaster right now. I have some more stuff to remove before I can pull the motor/trans/headers combo. I'm looking to pull that the 21st/22nd.

Engine is stalled til my rods get here, which should be this week. I'm ordering the pistons and rings friday. The bump in compression is a definite now, to 10:1. The rebuild of the spare set of heads is delayed until this summer when my bank account recovers, likewise with the upgrade with the cams.

Now, onwards to the pics:
