Fun times

Do you think you didn't shut it all the way the last time? Weird, don't you have a safety latch that you have to push to get your hood open?

it is possible. I checked the oil about 2 days ago and it has been fine.
yeah there is a safety latch I have noticed that sometimes it works and sometimes not. Maybe I just got careless and assumed it was closed tight.
I've been driving it for 2 days sines I checked the oil.

God is punishing you for not lowering your car?

And I was just about to order the springs to

I've randomly had the hood pop up on my 97 before, but luckily the safety latch works well. So it isn't entirely impossible that it popped open while driving and the safety latch just didn't catch it. A properly working safety latch may be a better solution than hood pins.

I've had the same happen on my 88, for both the hood and the rear hatch, but that always happen during auto-X events because the chassis is actually made from wet noodles.

Foxes are notorious for that, had it happen on two of them. Down side is on a Fox it screwes up the metal part of the cowl and dimples the roof :notnice:
Thats weird abot the free replacment, why is that? The windshiel is the cheapest part of the dammage though. The cowls are $200 (had to replace the Termis before). Looks like the hood itself is okay though so thats good. :nice:
With non-metal hoods, hood pins are a must even though they dont help the athstetics much :(

Florida has a mandatory auto glass repair or replacement law. so your insurance company replaces the windshield for free as long as you have comp/collision.

yeah the hood has no damage and I ordered the cowl in hinges today total came to $280.00. If I go through the Insurance for all repairs I'll have a $500.00 deductible. so I placed a Glass only claim, they fix it for free without my rate going up, I make the other repairs and I save $220 by not paying the deductible.

This time it worked out with Minor damage. I'll install some unsightly hood pins and hopefully there wont be a next time.:nice:
