MGW Owners: Adjustment Question

No, there is a disclaimer about the adjuster, like if you turn out too many times or over torque the bolts that hold the transmission linkage to the shifter it can break, plus i didnt care for the mgw that much its a well made shifter but too sloppy and quiet for my taste, so i went ahead and went got a different shifter the 5.o is def more firm and notchy which i like.

I don't see any disclaimer. Can you post it? I'm not doubting you, I just can't find it. I'd be willing to bet that had you called MGW they would of replaced it and probably asked you to send it back so they could see what broke and if they needed to improve on their design. MGW LTD is one of the best businesses I have ever dealt with in my life. What do you mean by sloppy? I think the MGW is very firm and positive. It's quiet and not notchy like the "Hurst style" shifters but that's personal preference.

I could wiggle the shifter a good inch or so sideways while in gear. Im pretty sure the instructions had a big warning that send not to adjust to many turns out or it can lead to failire and i think there was a sticker on the adjuster that said the same thing.
I could have called and im sure mgw would have worked with me but like i said it is a great quality shifter just never felt right to me so i wanted a different shifter anyways.

Just so you guys know, the install went great. No problems, and I'm loving the new shifter.

Although now, I've got some squeak when I put down the e-brake. I might not have put that e-brake cover back on right...I'll have to remove the console, and check.

I wouldn't call that a disclaimer. They're clear that the range of adjustment is from zero thru 10 and not to go outside that range. If you follow those instructions you shouldn't have a problem. It's certainly not a flaw in the shifter.

I can't see how you could wiggle the shifter an inch or so sideways. The only thing I can think of is if it was loose. If that wasn't the case than I think you'd have a bigger problem on your hands than the shifter. The only disclaimer is to warn you not to exceed 10 turns out. As long as you're happy with what you've got.

I just got mine in the other day and it’s the weekend so calling MGW ain’t gonna help me at the moment. Just so I’m clear, is a turn considered a 1/2 revolution or a whole revolution?
