Ryan's motor build H/C/I

gonna wait to pull the heads till there ready to go off to the machine shop. but the motor was damn clean on the inside. no build up. just oil. onl problem is one intake bolt snapped in the head. and of course it was the last one. we tried heating it up and i cant get it out. so im just going to have the machine shop deal with it becasue i dont want to mess the head up.

if its clean I would just swap what you need to make it run on your car and drop it in. build up the old short block for your blower.

then you can enjoy your car for the rest of the summer

:stupid: throw the cam in there swap everything over and go for it. then you can build up the stock SB and that will take 2 years by that time you'll be on to something else

the car being down for a month is not a big deal to me. i have the ranger to drive. i work alot. so i not have much time to enjoy it anyway. i rarely would drive it to work. or at night. so it would just be sitting even if it was running right now.

i have everything i need minus gaskets. bearings, and front and rear main to put the bottom end together. its out and its getting done this way. right now. i want a 393 for it someday. till then a mild 302 with some boost is more then enough for me. "BUDGET BUILD" and im keeping it that way. i have spent at most 350 on everything i have so far. and since everything else im buying i get through jegs through a freind i get it as his cost so even cheaper.

Sweet! :nice:

Sux about the snapped bolt though. :(

So are you gonna use the stock crank? Are you over boring the block?

Whats under the cover in the back :O

Stock Mustang rods and pistons (pre-1993) are forged to begin with. The Explorer pistons are hypereutectic, which don't hold up well under a power adder. Not sure if the Explorer rods are forged or what they are. Was your buddies short block originally out of a Mustang? 514 RWHP is on the ragged edge of breaking the block itself. Sounds like fun though, haha.

Hyper pistions are still strong. 96-98 Cobras had them and could handle lots of power with stock internals. I made 414RWHP for YEARS and my friend now has the car and he's enjoying it now. The tune is the key. If those motors lack octane and detonate...they're toast for sure.

Back to my friends car....it was a sick sick ride...and yes it was a Mustang engine. The car wasn't that pretty on the outside, but he didn't care. He street raced the **** out of that car for big money, so he didn't want to be too flashy. Under the hood of that car was wild.
