Ryan's motor build H/C/I

btw, Id use the x cam over the steeda(im telling ya, trust me on this one) , and you have to get valve springs, theres no way around it with those cams...

but with a good valve job and a light port, those heads really rock..

the aod will not like a x cam. plus my dad will **** a brick.

and i know. steeda doesnt seem to recomend any ceatrin springs for it so i have no clue what springs to get. and a gasket match will be done on the heads and upper and lower.

well now its at the point where its the waiting game. every machine shop ive called says the soonest they can get to it is 2 weeks. and i dont want to wait to weeks to just have the damn thing hot tanked. i know it dont take that long! so if anyone knows of one that can get it hot tanked alot quicker pass the info to me lol.

still has the crank in it. havent pulled it out yet becasue i dont feel like laying it on the garage floor.

oooo, forgot bout the aod, well get the crane upgrade kit, which comes with springs, locks and retainers, i got mine for like $150 if I remember right, and it was to hold a .560 lift cam, so your well in the clear with that kit, trickflow makes a nice one as well, bout the same price.

welp block and heads are at the machine shop. all the acceries are off the motor. amoung some body panels. anywho. back out to finish pulling the motor. taking my time and bagging and tagging it all. post pictures tonight.

i spent a hour today staring at the engine bay. i really want to weld all the holes up...

think it will be worth while?i have time to kill. like a week and a half. till the block and heads are back from machine shop. and iw as going to strip it and paint the bay either way.

Right on man, I have always dreamed of doing that cause it makes the wow factor go up 10x when you pop the hood and its all smooth with a minimal ammount of wires. You have done such a great job on the car I think the cleaned up engine compartment would be a great touch.
Do you know how to weld and body fill and all that stuff?

You actually sat there and stared at an empty engine bay for a full hour? Was there any alcohol and/or illicit drug use involved? :D

A well executed and layed out plan starts with hours and hours of just starring at the area to visualize what you need to do and how to do it.

I gave the kid allot of crap but ya know what, hes really learned allot about these cars and he did it by diving in and making POS Stangs really sweet rides.
I love the way his new vert looks and really didnt like the car when he first got it but now its a Fox I would be very proud to own.
You see so many kids in his age group gang banging or doing drugs and just bad crap and hes using all his energy in a constructive way.

Most kids I know would have just slapped that old Explorer block in and gone out to tear it up. I am impressed hes doing it the right way and making sure that its not only right but its how he wants it. Going the extra mile to smooth out the engine bay is kick ass.
So many times I have wanted to do it in one of my Foxes cause it looks so bad ass but I have never had the time/energy/knowledge to do it.

Ryan, Kudos to you bro! :hail2:

Ryan man weld up those holes, you wont regret it. I really wanted to do it but I ended up not pulling my motor. My buddy who was in a welding/body shop class was gonna weld mine all up and paint it for 75 bucks. I wish I coulda done it. Its a simple job, He told me you just weld the holes in a criss-cross pattern, bondo, and paint, and your done. You can definitely do it in a week working on it a couple hours a day.
