i hear ya but thats bout as easy as it gets, flipped shorties cheap IC, just throw a set of cometic gaskets on the heads and a set of studs
I can tell you from expierience that you will have just as much headaches with a cenrti and less fun

Im running around 11-12 with a completely stock bottom end and no problems at all. Been running the same s/c for almost 6 years now.![]()
im not absolutely dead set on an s/c but im leaning that way due to tuning simplicity, and i definitly dont plan to skip the tune. not really interested in messing with stand alone and what not.
ive already got full exhaust and have a 75mm tb/spacer to go on whatever i end up doing. i figure that the stock intake is so ridiculously restrictive that id be an idiot not to put an aftermarket one on there.
i could be wrong but i figure that with 42# injectors, 255 pump, pressure reg. and the whole blower/ IC set up i should be good to go. just didnt want to spend 2kish and end up with a sub-par blower, just need to do more research i suppose
compression/leak down testing will be done, no sense in putting the effort in for it to blow up on me
thanks for your help
You could always sell the headers/midpipe to get some cash back towards the turbo kit. I can tell you because I've had both, this is how it went.
Bought SC-trim kit from superchargers 4 less
Put it on car, made me sad(I was 16 too!!!, and it still felt horrible..lol)
Spent a bunch of money on upgrades(converting to 8 rib, 8" crank "race" pulley, UPR boost master pipe, #42 injectors, fuel pump, "aluminum" discharge tube for the blower, new belt, etc)
Drove the car for a few months, still felt like a dog to me
Pulled the blower off and sold it all for $1200(nice big loss on my part)
Started the turbo build and never looked back!
BTW, you shouldn't need a AFPR as long as your fuel system is up to par. Good luck!!
I have to disagree with you for the first time. Bentley had 2 different blowers on his car before the turbo. We bolted them on, got it tuned and hammered down pretty much. All he did was drive it. A turbo car basically lives on jack stands for a looong time before you get it straightened out, unless you've built one or two before and have learned what it takes to make it work right. I also gotta throw in there the car was A LOT more fun with the blower, but a lot faster with the turbo...I can tell you from expierience that you will have just as much headaches with a cenrti and less fun
but what's considered high mileage for a head unit? That's all in the eye of the beholder. How many miles are on it?
I have had a blast with my S/C for sure and have been thinking about going turbo so please, by all means elaborate on what you mean by more fun compared to a turbo car.
10k, full kit plus injectors maf, anderson boost pipe, SCT chip
2 different pulleys, everything needed for $1750. just wondered if 10k "high mileage" for a head unit

With the blower and a 5spd on good tires the car was just so violent. It was still very fast, and just a lot more fun. It just seems like you're always waiting with a turbo. I just like the violent explosion when you crack it in the blower car.
