best sound for a 2007 gt?

I was wondering what exhaust setup would be best for a 2007 GT? Trying not to spend too much. Many years ago I owned a 98 GT and had a Mac Prochamber Mid pipe with flowmaster 40's. I looked at mac prochambers and they're either 250 or 500, whats the difference??? Suggestions are always appreciated.

There are two Prochambers under $300. One is aluminumized steel vise stainless steel and the other one is a splice in design. It splices into the stock cats. The splice in will be a little deeper than the stock catted H. If you don't plan on spending too much I would keep the stock catted H and look for some SLP LM, Boom tubes or the new Pype Bombs.

do the slp loudmouths sound GOOD, not just loud? I remember my friend had a GT and he put cherrybombs on it and it sounded like crap, lots of popping, do you get a lot of popping with the Loudmouths? Thanks, I'm new here.

SLP LM sound good with the stock catted H. When I had them with my prochamber and hi-flow cats they sounded good but would get a little too loud when I got on it. A lot of people like the sound of SLP LM and some people don't. They sound much better in person than the do on youtube. The pypebombs look like good deal. They are about $100 cheaper than the SLP LM. They louver core tips which will clean the sound up. I have not heard them in person, so I really don't know how they sound. Your best bet would be to listen to other set-ups in person.

gman, just watched your clip. I know it must be way louder than in the clip. Its hard to get a good representation on video IMO. I took a vid of mine yesterday and live its nasty loud, but on video it sounds nowhere near as loud. Oh, and nice color too dude! LOL

OP, go to youtube and just watch lots of clips and read the captions, and remember its gonna be louder in person.

I HAVE EQUAL LENGTH BBK TUNED SHORTY HEADERS WITH AN OFF ROAD CAT-LESS X-PIPE, I HAVE TRIED 4 DIFFERENT MUFFLERS ON MY CAR, AND CAME BACK TO THE STOCK 2010 GT PREMIUM MUFFLERS!! THE MAC MUFFLERS I HAD (NOT SURE WHICH ONES THEY WERE, CANT REMEMBER) WERE WAAAY TO DRONEY AND LOUD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, I LOVE A LOUD CAR, BUT THE DEEP DRONING DEATH-SOUND EVERYTIME I HIT THE HIGHWAY WAS NOT CUTTING IT!! THE SLP LOUDMOUTHS ARE WAAAAYYYY TO LOUD IF YOU HAVE A CAT-LESS X-PIPE AND HEADERS, BECAUSE, THIS NOW MEANS YOU HAVE STRAIGHPIPES..LOL…THIS IS THE WAY TO 100% WARRANTY GETTING EXHASUT TICKETS ON A WEEKLY BASIS..LOL…I THEN HAD THE PYPES VIOLATORS, THESE MUFFLERS SOUND GOOD, AND MAKE A DIFFERENT SOUND, ITS MORE RASPY AND NOT AS DEEP AS THE OTHERS, BUT IT WASN’T BAD AT ALL, STILL VERY LOUD AND SOUND GREAT AT W.OT…AND THEN I BORROWED MY FRIENDS F.R.P.P./BORLAS FOR A WEEK AND I LIKED THE SOUND OF THOSE..AND OF COURSE, THEY ARE THE MOST EXPENSIVE..HAHA.. BUT TO KEEP MY CAR AS “SLEEPER AS POSSIBLE” I PUT THE STOCK MUFFLERS ON, IT IS NOT QUIET, AND IT SOUNDS ALMOST STOCK IF U DRIVE IT GENTLY, BUT IT YOU OPEN IT UP, ITS PRETTY LOUD… AND, AS FAR AS PERFORMANCE, JUST SWAPPING OUT AXLE BACK MUFFLERS YOU ARE GAINING VERY LITTLE RWHP COMPARED TO THE STOCK MUFFLERS… WATCH THE VIDEO IN MY SIGNATURE – MY GRABBER BLUE HAS STOCK MUFFLERS W/ OFF ROAD CATLESS X-PIPE AND BBK EQUAL LENGTH HEADERS, THE MINERAL GRAY 08 HAS JUST LOUD MOUTH, THE REST IS STOCK EXHUAST, AND THE LAST BLACK STANG HAS JBA TUNED SHORTIES, OFF RAOD X-PIPE AND PYPES VIOLATORS….THIS SHOULD GIVE U LIL IDEA OF THE CARS IN THE SAME OUTDOOR ATMOSPHERE TO JUDGE THE SOUNDS!! Where did you all get the SLP Loudmouths? I have the Pypes Violators on my 07. It is now going to be subbed for a 2010. I loved the sound of the 2007, but I don't want to do anything too drastic on a new car.

JUST KEEP AN EYE ON EBAY..THEY ALWAYS HAVE A HUGE SELECTION OF DIFF SETUPS, JUST MAKE SURE THEY ARE FROM A REPUTABLE SELLER AND U SHOULDNT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL....AND U WILL SAVE SUM $$$ IN MOST CASES

They are a bit pricey, but they are austinetic stainless steel so they are REALLY high quality and last for a REALLY REALLY long time. But I agree with everybody, you can't really get a good idea how things sound from youtube, your best bet is to go to shows and check out what other people are running.
