I asked in a progress thread but now I think it's best on its own, I'm interesred in bringing my 89 LX down some to shorten up the gap between fender and tire, mainly in the front because the back doesn't bother me all that much ,maybe cause I'm old school. 9" wheel with a 245 45 17 tire on the front, coming soon 275 40 17 for the rear, I had Eibach pro line in mind but some other ideas were offered that were interesting. What would you guys suggest for a weekend car that will not be raced, will mainly cruise.

You know my .02 worth lol. I run same wheel tire combo as yours. Here's a pick when I screwed it up(fan ran into radiator etc) also had front as low as it would go. I intend to raise it 1/4-1/2" but I have clearance on everything as is.

Stock front springs, with 2/3 of a coil removed and stock, 25-rear-old read springs out back, sitting on top of a set of polyurethane isolators. Car sits the way I want it to and rides every bit as well as it did stock.

No need for aftermarket springs if all you want to do is drop the stance a little.

There are a few ways to do this

My preference would be to run either H&R or Steeda springs,. They will drop you about an inch and ive a firm but not harsh ride. You can also cut some out of your stock springs but I don't like that route as you are changing the spring rate and you have to cut, install, see how the height is, remove, cut installl. until you get the height hyou want. Cut too much and your car will ride too low and like a buckboard. . You can also get some adjustable coil overs or rear control arms and dial in whatever ride height you want.

03/04 Mach 1 springs

Didn't want to be slammed anymore, but didn't want the sloppy handling of stock springs. I have MM weigh jacker control arms out back, so I may trim 1/2 coil up front and lower the rear a tad. I can lower the rear so that the rear tire begins to tuck into the fender.

With tokiko Blues, it rides pretty nice without the teeth chattering over big bumps. The springs are 600# linear rate, so it still handles well.

I like it, but I wouldn't mind 1/2" lower or so.

running the eibach sports i believe with KYB shocks(installed by PO) 245/45 fronts with 275/40 rears rubs full lock in the front and on big bumps in the back. i got 9" wheels all the way around and im not sure of the offset. wheels were also installed by PO and i can find any info on them online

This will not be as easy a choice as I thought it was gonna be, all of the pics you guys have posted look great, I would be quite happy with any of the above stances, and I'll tell ya what, If I ever get around to a 5 lug conversion 18" wheels are gonna be in my future.

There are a lot of ways to do it.
The eibach pro lowering springs are a sure thing, they always sit just right.

I've had quite a few sets of springs, I wouldn't recommend cutting any spring that is not linear.
